Love Thursday Featured Fotographer:  Jenty

 The Kiss -- Jenty

I've mentioned before how much I love images of dads with their kids, and so Father's Day is one of my favourite days to people watch.    For some reason, however, this Father's Day I read more than one blog post lamenting less-than-perfect relationships the authors  had with their dads, and so for this Love Thursday, I decided that I was going to find an image of a father showing unbridaled love.

Luckily, I didn't have to go far:  the lovely Jenty posted the image above in the Shutter Sisters Flickr pool.  I love how she captured a completely unguarded moment of this dad planting a big passionate one on his son.   And, happily for all of us, Jenty has a photoblog -- so if you'd like to see daily pictures of her life in her homeland of South Africa, be sure to check it out.  Thanks for letting me share your art, Jenty!

Happy Love Thursday, everyone.  Please be sure to leave your links to your images of love in the comments below. And may you have a completely unguarded moment of someone planting a big passionate one on you today!

out of body

061808_600.jpg

I believe in the photographer's magic — the ability to stir the soul with light and shape and colour. To create grand visual moments out of small and simple things...  ~Amyn Nasser

Children dancing...twirling, sashaying, floating.  A blur of movement gently takes her soul by the hand as a glow of light infuses her existence with energy, and shadows hauntingly whisper a summon, "dance with us".  She is flesh, yet the magic softly clicks, clicks, clicks as though the magician were present in spirit only...body vacated by her dancing soul.  The music ends, body and soul reunite...all the while her human eye never saw.  But her magic did.  One pink toenail.

Please share a link in comments to your out of body photography moment...your one pink toenail shot.  We each have at least one image presumed to be captured by accident.  Me, I believe in magic.  Do you?

You only can vote for ONE of these shots and you must place your vote in the comments on this very post. Feel free to share the contest with friends and family too. to honour and protect

061608_600.jpg
They only live for ten hours, you know, or three days, or barely a week, or something like that, said Justin to me gently, puzzled as to why I stood there with the ailing butterfly in my hand. And I thought well then that's a lifetime, and a whole new way to think about ten hours or three days or barely a week.

You are good and beautiful and perfect, I whispered to the butterfly as he wriggled faintly, beaten by a broken wing. He seemed to be listening. You go on to be an elephant or a brook trout or a tiny baby boy, and have fantastic adventures of a whole new kind. You take your glorious yellow with you, thread it into your next soul so we all can admire it forever.

This morning I went back to the hosta and he'd been blown by the wind into its stem forest. I righted him, delicate as he was, already having lost the moisture and suppleness of life, and spoke to him again but this time he was elsewhere, and all that seemed left was just his shell.

But I know better.
