walked in fields of gold

Everything is just so beautiful around here right now. And the leaves on the trees haven't even changed yet. But when they do I fear my head may explode from beauty overload. We bought a house a couple of months ago and while I wouldn't say it is in the country, it is the closest to the country I have ever lived. There are corn fields and soy bean fields less than a mile from our house and the golden colors they produce are unreal. Sometimes I stand on our deck and see swatches of colors between the neighbors houses that look like they must have been painted on. But today I drove by a combine that had just swallowed an entire field of corn and my heart sank. I know it's necessary, but don't these farmers know what they are doing to me?! They're taking away these gorgeous fields of gold and soon I'll be left with nothing but fields of gray.

What kind of colors are you seeing right now?

This is a macro of one of our early performing maple leaves with the late afternoon sun behind it. No post-processing required, just pure natural color there. I love how the sun brought out the vivid colors in the leaf.

Another New Englander here! Autumn has the most rich, vivid colors around here. Funny, I took this last weekend, showing the colors my kiddo collected at the park:

And this - the leaves are just starting to turn, and the ocean, well it looks different almost every day!

I am in awe every day as I drive to work and school. Mother Nature blows me AWAY every year. We have gold...red...orange...

Now if it would stop raining! I love the fall colors against a deep blue sky. Maybe today...

Vibrant colors are easy to find if you look closely in the Black Hills!

I'm seeing a lot of spring colours at the moment. We're in that really lovely time when winter is over and the sun comes out. Of course, that means my garden really need seeing to, and I'm too busy to get my hands dirty right now.

Although I took this shot in 2006, it very aptly represents what I'm seeing out my window today, on my one tree in my front yard. She's usually one of the first trees on the street to explode into colour!

Washington State is a bit undecided about the colors it wants to prominently display so there is a bit of green and orange and red and yellow and blue and gray and I love the variety :) http://flickr.com/photos/blazeyphotography/2930492066/

Still greens for me, as well. Appreciating the gold when I can find it! What a great topic, and these other comments will perhaps give me a hefty dose of fall color. :O)

Here in the Chicagoland area leaves are changing because the weather is so wishy washy. A visit to the Morton Arboretum this time of year feels like you've walked into a painting with the most brilliant colors of golds and reds. Take a look at this shot:

So many beautiful colors. Unfortunately they're all still stuck on my camera since we're still visiting family and I haven't been able to download many photos. Kind of frustrating. But I did manage to download these colors:
