Love Thursday: February 28th, 2008

022808_600.jpg

There's something I love about an image of a man caring for a young child.  And it's not just pictures of my husband with our daughter, either.  I think it has something to do with the fact that often men are expected to be strong, stoic,  and capable of subduing any signs of vulnerability -- so when I see a man being particularly tender or attentive with a child, I feel like I've been let in on a little secret.

The photograph above was taken this past weekend:  a friend asked me to take pictures of her young daughters.  We met at a park, and I was so happy that her husband, B, decided to join us.  With the aid of my long 70-200mm lens, I was able to capture this special moment between daddy and daughter.  Thanks, B, for letting me in on the secret.

Happy Love Thursday, everyone.  Please leave your links of images of love in the comments section, below -- and for inspiration, please check out the lovely image by Addicted to Coke left in the Shutter Sisters Flickr Pool.

And may you witness a tiny, secret moment of love today.

I agree Karen. One of the many reasons that I fell in love with my husband was his way with children. We don't have kids yet but I love watching him interact so sweetly with our friends' kids.

My husband is in Germany & Austria on business right now. He sent me some pictures he took today. I know we are suppose to post pictures we took, but I am very much loving to see the world through his eyes.

Happy Love Thursday everyone! I know the feeling, seeing the love between daddies and their babies is amazing. My daughter and husband have a nightly ritual of dancing around the family room in the evenings...no matter what our day has been like, it never fails to put a smile on my face!!! I will have to try and capture their antics on camera one day soon.

I do like it when I am able to see a secret moment between people; that small glance or hands just touching, it's poignant and sweet.

In my photo this week, I saw dear friends walking together, in step, not talking and just enjoying the day together... it reminded me of their wedding and how they walked together from making their vows - steady and sure and so happy together.

Karen, this post gave me extreme goosebumps when I read it. Have you been peeking inside my brain?

Last night I had a dream about Gage and his father. In the dream, they were playing on the beach and extremely happy. And I was so happy, knowing that even though things didn't work out between us, he is a FANTASTIC father and my sons very much love him. I am lucky to be blessed with such a great influence and role model in my sons' lives. And when I awoke, everything was okay in my heart.

I know this resulted from really missing them recently (they're at their dad's right now), but instead of having an anxious worry-filled dream like I usually do, I had this serene message delivered to me from the universe. I woke up peaceful and smiled reflecting on the moments I experienced in the dream.

Then I wandered downstairs, made some coffee, started up the iMac, and read this. It was like I already knew what Love Thursday was going to be for me, and it turned out to be the same for you as well.

Thank you for this. <3

It's my dear friend Kat's birthday today so Love Thursday came around just in time.

My husband is one of those big, strong, non-demonstrative types so I especially treasure this picture of him & Amanda on a ride at Canada's Wonderland. http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatswanniettaknittingtoday/2298759436/

And we don't see my mom very often but when we do we take walks on the beach. I caught them at a lull in the conversation, but it seems to be one of those wonderfully comfortable silences. http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatswanniettaknittingtoday/2298759442/

Its not quite the same type of Love mostly represented here. But, its late winter in the northwest of our fair country and the doldrums have set in and look to be staying a few more weeks.

So, my love contribution for this last LT in February is the love of sunshine and travel and looking forward to more of each, soon, very soon.

Here are my love entries (thanks, Tracey for the love!). My 3 year old and I set about making a very special Valentine 1st birthday party for his little brother. We made all the decorations ourselves, including heart wax paper to wrap up the party favors.

I know a lot of people post photos of family for Love Thursday, so this may not be what most have in mind. But I love red barns and I really love this photo. I've driven by this farm thousands of times, it's located where I grew up and I've been wanting to photograph it for a while. Finally the opportunity presented itself with the perfect light too. I added textures to give it a vintage feel, which I am really into right now. Thanks for looking!

With the nosing changeover for instance, this product is perfect for when tiling a airline flight of stairs. once the cut-out complete is inserted beneath the tiles right into a http://www.cheapthomasonline.com/thomas-sabo-bracelets.html refreshing bed of mortar, the extended oversize downward lip on the nosing changeover will hide any noticeable subfloor providing your actions a superb obvious finish.
