a good fit - photo contest

052708_600.jpg

Today at Shutter Sisters we’re kicking off another photo contest. All you have to do is show us your best visual translation of the word fit and you could win a Nintendo Wii Console and the Wii Fit to go with it. Yes, you heard right. We are giving away a Wii AND the just released Wii Fit game to one lucky winner. Crowd goes wild.

There are three simple steps to follow in order to enter:

  1. Submit a fit photo to our Flickr Pool. Only one photo per person please.
  2. Tag it “Wii Fit Photo Contest”.
  3. Leave the link in the comments here so we are sure not to miss your entry.

What exactly is a fit photo? Anything you want it to be. We’re all about anything that fits in the box or out, anything that’s a perfect fit or feels fitting; in other words, if the shoe fits

You are more than welcome to post the photo to your blog as well and you may add a story that fits for some context to your photo. If you do write up a little something on your blog, be sure to link it to your photo in the Flickr Pool so everyone can enjoy your blog entry too. Play along however you’d like…whatever fits the bill. Keep in mind that you must have permission from anyone in your photo to enter the photo in the contest. And by all means, spread the word about the contest…anyone with a fitting photo can enter.

The contest begins today and you have until Friday, June 13th to enter. The Shutter Sisters will choose three fit finalists from the submissions and post them here on June 17th where you will get the chance to vote for the photo you feel is the best fit. The Wii and Wii Fit winner will be announced on June 20th.

Get ready, get set, get FIT!

I thought this might be 'fitting' for this time of year..as the yellow spring dandelions fade into white fuzz before they disappear.

Because I'm not all that familiar with Flickr - I'm posting my image link here. If anyone would be so kind as to advise me as to how to post on your Flickr pool I'd be more than happy to do so.

Right after this photo, we realized that Marie (on the right) was making that odd face because she had gotten herself stuck.

These little wee siblings all fit together and were so cosy while catching a few zzzzz. About 5 seconds after this shot was taken they were all running around like crazy.

I love this photo because it really shows how perfect of a fit my 2 rescue dogs are for each other. I adopted them 7 months apart. They're not related at all. They look almost exactly identical. They hit it off after the first 5 minutes of meeting each other and have been inseparable ever since. They're two peas in a pod. When they're not playing, they're sleeping together. Sometimes it's hard to tell where one dog begins and the other one ends.

These two just seemed to fit together as they walked...when I think of fit, I think of those around you who just seem to "fit" in your life.

The perfect fit - my sister's wedding. She wanted "bright" shoes to wear & I bought her these. They were the perfect fit for her perfect day. Her husband being Chinese - red symbolizes good luck.

For me, Fit is the way things, no matter how dissimilar, can come together in a beautiful and harmonic way.

I am sending a flicker link for my fit photo. I read your posts each day as well as visiting the daily click. I appreciate the spirit in your photo and journal, your authors and contagious inspiration. Pam

The photo I have entered suggested to me that even though these bolts and such were once very long ago, manufactured to be placed just so: it is this "just so" that has become its own piece of art. It they were loosened and removed, it would be as though it were broken. Thus, they fit.

I've given it some thought and came up with a shot that was taken when I thru-hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail in the summer of 2006. The photo is me on the TRT's highest point - Relay Peak at 10,338 feet above sea level! It was quite an accomplishment for many reasons.

I battled kidney cancer that year and had my left kidney/ureter removed. Bladder cancer followed 3 months later. I really felt like I was lucky to be alive and wanted to do something life-changing that I'd never done before. Hiking 115 miles, ridge to ridge around Lake Tahoe, did just that! The hike enabled me to take the time to re-evaluate my life and set my priorities in the right order without the pressure of my everyday crazy life at home and school.

I came home FIT...both mentally and physically. I've since had a couple of relapses and gained 30 lbs. Wii Fit would be a great tool to get fit AND have fun at home.
