Love Thursday: Friendship

Jen Gray and Andrea, Manzanita Beach, Oregon, August 11, 2008.

Last week, I took a short holiday with several women -- some of whom I knew prior to my trip, some of whom I didn't. It didn't matter -- we all got on like a house on fire.

On the second day, we all trouped down to the beach to take in the sun and shoot some photos. Two of the women, Jen and Andrea (also a Shutter Sisters contributor!), have been friends and soulsisters for a long time, and knowing this, I asked them if they'd let me take their picture.

The women immediately agreed, and they did the standard cheek-to-cheek friend photo pose we all do, and I took a few shots. And then, suddenly, they pulled back and regarded each other, happily and soulfully.

And I quickly took the shot above.

Happy Love Thursday, all. Please leave your links to your images and words of love in the comments section, below -- and check out the great friendships captured by eky_lane and yaznotjaz and uploaded in the Shutter Sisters Flickr pool

And may you soulfully regard your true friends today.

What a stunning photograph! Two beautiful women.

I hope these fellas might be friends one day. Although, distance might make that impossible:

This is one of my favoritest images. I hope that these little girls stay friends forever. It's funny looking at it. You don't know if they knew each other before or this was a chance encounter. Isn't it great how little kids can make instantaneous connections and friendships?

Oh...and I've often wondered about the friendship of these women. I took this shot as they left the Cimeterie du Montmartre in Paris. They were definitely not there as tourists but to visit a loved one.

What a beautiful photo. It tells such an amazing story of friendship. I thought I'd stay on the theme of friendship and pulled one of my favorite photos from my photostream.

That's my Great Neice Alyssa and her best friend Colin. They're nearly 1 year apart to the day and have been friends since she was a baby. Alyssa says that one day they'll get married because they're already best friends. She's wise beyond her years.

Happy Love Thursday everyone.

On our eight year wedding anniversary this week our almost three year old son told us he wanted to have been at our wedding. We're kind of proud that he wasn't seeing as how WE were each at our parents' weddings, in utero. =)

One thing's for sure though...he's made our little family quite complete.

What a wonderful theme for today. And I love the photo that you've selected. It shows so much love and sisterhood!

Just yesterday I found a photo that is perfect for this post, with me and two friends. It's so lovely when friends are together, sharing an experience that is perfect:

My contribution is from last summer when I took my son to my hometown for a week and everyone was there for summer homecoming weekend. Girlfriends "played" while our son's played.

It was a bittersweet trip because upon my return home, one girlfriend was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, a year later she's cancer free!

What wonderful pictures you are all sharing today!

Here's my 13 year old and the dear friend he sees about once a year when our families vacation together. They slide right back into the friendship they've shared since infancy -- just as we Moms of these 2 do!

Today I have featured an old friend of ours, that is probably not going to live much longer. Her name is Sadie, and she has been a faithful dog to us over the past (almost) 13 years.

I love Love Thursday! My photo is a different kind of friendship. The friendship between a Mimi and an Olivia :) Happy birth day Olivia!

Oh, so funny to say that my husband is my best friend, but honestly, even through all the yuck we have been going through this year, he's the person I always want to call when I have great news or the person I want to go check out that new restaurant with. Last night, we did just that. There's a cute shot of us in there... http://asksugarjones.blogspot.com/2008/08/good-company-good-eats.html

Even though he gets under my skin, I still love my buddy... my husband.

I will recommend not to hold back until you get enough cash to order different goods! You should just get the personal loans or car loan and feel yourself fine
