one year ago today

Over at Mother May I have been enjoying sharing some old, archived photos. Unearthing images from years past has reminded me of how far I've come and yet, how much of life stays the same.

I shot a set of this sweet little raspberry heart on Nov 10th, 2008. I guess it's true. I have been seeking out and focusing on the little things for as long as I can remember. And looking back on shots like these I am reminded that through it all, at least my heart is in the right place.

When you take a look back to one year ago, where was your heart? Let's see a scene from the archives.

Checked back in my blog, and so surprised to learn that I was still potty training one year ago today (http://melissamillerphotos.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/11/work-in-progress.html). Those days are LONG gone.

This time last year I couldn't stop taking bad pictures of my new nieces. I didn't care. They had my heart...

i love going back one year ago exactly - i do it often to see what's the same and what has changed.
our blog post a year ago

this was one of our post that showed the unexpected synchronicity in our images. I am still always pleasantly surprised when this happens.

Well, about one year ago (Nov. 11), I attended a very moving Veterans Day ceremony:

i posted today how i should be packing my house, and how i am avoiding the task at hand. i just added to my post that i came over here and was provoked into searching my archives. perfect timing, a year ago was obviously a sweet, restful, gentle day for me.

Oh! That is SUCH a great prompt, Tracey! As I looked back I was stunned to see where I was... And then again, even more blown away to realize how far I've come since then! You were key in this 1 year journey and I'm so glad to share this with you once again. xo http://www.gypsygirlsguide.com/2008/11/find_your_own_way_1.html

One year ago today, I was still on my old website before my stalker forced me to change and I was talking about the most important things for me that day...civility, kindness and love....

i LOVE looking back (and i have that photojojo time capsule which is so very wonderful each month to get a glimpse into a year ago in photos)

last year at this time i was finding quiet moments wherever i could as life was the most upside down it's ever been.

I don't have one taken on this exact day one year ago, but close. Where was I? Loving the fall colors and light and still learning about my camera (so I was only shooting in P mode). So I had a lot of good accidents. I love this one of my husband's hand! One year later, I'm shooting in manual and still loving life and light and my camera!!

I saw this and was excited and nervous at the same time. 1 year ago today I was deep into my PPD. I can't even remember my birthday last year. So sad. I was hoping going back into my archives I'd see a shot, but nope. The best I can do is January 23rd.

I didn't shoot anything on Nov. 10 last year, but on Nov. 11, I had a lovely lunch with my team and a work friend who was visiting from DC. We were sitting outside by the lake and this big goose popped his head up right next to our table. I pulled out my phone and shot this, which is not good photography, but it always cracks me up.

This time last year I was thinking about how much I enjoyed taking photographs, and contemplating buying a camera rather than borrowing one from work. Just a few weeks later I bought a point and shoot, and six months after that I purchased my first DSLR. The photos on my flickr page represent my year's photographic journey from hesitant novice to fully entranced and passionate photographer. It's been a wonderful year.

One year ago I was still trying to "notice" and capture more moments http://www.flickr.com/photos/laurohunt/3026108495/in/set-72157603707815517/ Hopefully this years photo set shows how much I've improved.
And my blog post http://gnubee.wordpress.com/2008/11/11/chasing-the-light/ was similar to one I just did the other day http://gnubee.wordpress.com/2009/11/09/the-morning-light/
Wow, so does this mean I'm just a hamster continually going in circles? I was sure I had done something different too by not photographing any pumpkins this year ;)

oh, i'm so glad you did this, tracey! a few resons...

one, i love this raspberry photo. i was not really reading shutter sisters back then, so i probably also did not know about your blog either. so now i have had the chance to see something as if it was never yet posted.

two, you caused me to go back one year, too. my nov.10, 2008 post happens to be one of my favorite set of photos ever. {i also was "seeking out and focusing on the little things".}
http://itsjusthowiseethings.blogspot.com/2008/11/little-things-in-my-treasured-quiet.html

like you, it's helped me see how far i've come. i took those with my tiny canon powershot a470, and i love them! that reminds me of a post on s.s. a while back about how it is not necessarily about having a nice camera to take good shots... not that these are good, but i really like them.

third, i have been sort of disappointed that i don't have more time to spend on my jorjah-b blog, and i miss it, because that was my first blog and it was what led me to branch into a photo blog. i had been thinking, "maybe i should post some of my favorite posts from last year when i was full of inspiration and blogging vigor!" you've just reaffirmed my decision to do that.

oh... sorry for rambling. :)

oh goodness. a year ago this month i was doing a month of black and whites (as i am this year), we were living in tennessee, my husband lost his job and we moved back 'home' to georgia - to a singlewide trailer in the country for 4 months. he found a job, we moved into our first house, i lost my job, i took up spinning yarn & now i have my own business. it's been quite a year.

i usually take more detail shots, but this one sums up this month last year for me:

I had a dream to start my firm, nevertheless I didn't earn enough amount of money to do this. Thank heaven my close mate suggested to take the <a href="http://lowest-rate-loans.com/topics/personal-loans">personal loans</a>. So I received the credit loan and made real my desire.
