Still So Much to Share

Bebe's Bunny

When I saw this image in our OWP Pool for this months word Share, it melted my heart. Being a mama to a little girl who also held a stuffed bunny near and dear to her heart for years (she still sleeps with it at 11), I immediately associated Bebe's Bunny by KrispyCrunch6 with security, warmth, unconditional love, and sharing. And those are words I often use to describe what we've got happening over here at Shutter Sisters. Thanks to all of us working together in a collective group of creativity, support and acceptance, we have created a unique safe haven for sharing ourselves and our work. I honestly can't think of anything better.

Today is the last day of the month where we say good-bye to our last word and usher in a new one with the blank slate primed for our next challenge. Thanks to HP for being such terrific sponsors! But, I'll tell you, I really hate to see the word share go anywhere. So...let's make a pact. Let's always hold onto sharing around here. As a matter of fact, let's celebrate today, our last official day of the word share with a big huge sisterly Share Fest! Crowd goes wild.

Since we've launched this blog over 18 months ago we have gathered a stellar group of women photographers! And I am talking about all of you! Let's keep growing this community. Today, I ask each and every one of you to SHARE SHUTTER SISTERS! Blog about what's happening here, email your own personal Shutter Sisters, twitter, facebook, invite fellow Flickr friends and images you think are Shutter Sisters material into our pool, call people, talk about us...just share this community in any way that feels good to you!

We've got some great things brewing that we are eager to share with you all and the new friends you invite too so check back tomorrow when we announce the new word for next month's One Word Project and our super-sweet plans for BlogHer this summer in Chicago. It's going to be great, I promise.

And in appreciation of all of you jumping in with our Share Fest we will be giving one of you TWO Shutter Sisters Flash Bulb Necklaces. One for you and one for a friend. It just seems right. So, leave a comment here and tell us how you are sharing Shutter Sisters and you'll be entered in the random drawing. You have until midnight Tuesday night to comment. YAY!

If you haven't already, pop over to yesterday's post and comment there too. You'll be entered to win the National Geographic prize pack! You have until midnight tonight for that one. See?? It's just a big Share Fest around here!

My best friend of 20 years finally became my Shutter Sister this week. She bought her first camera, and we have planned a week long SS trip in September. Of course I introduced her to the Shutter SIster website right away...it is such an amazing source of inspiration and friendship!
Thank you!!!

I've been reading almost since the beginning, but it took me a long time before I felt comfortable or confident in my photographs to share. Now I share when I can, and it has helped my confidence as a photographer grow exponentially.

This site is like this little acorn: it's amazing how, out of something so small, comes something so huge.

I'm huge into sharing -- always have been. In fact, ever since I discovered Shutter Sisters and this warm, encouraging community of women photographers I have been blogging about it. I mention it at Flickr too but my main 'shout outs' to Shutter Sisters is at my blog. I should be doing more, however. I should be adding Shutter Sisters as a tag in my blog, I should be doing more of the one-on-one with others encouraging them to join in (though I have done this as well). There is always room to step-it-up and that's exactly what I plan to do!

... off to step it up! :)

I have finally gotten up the courage to share my photos on Flickr in the SS group. I have now started to roam around, looking and praising. I wear my light bulb necklace to all of my 'photo shoots!!' Go SS go!!

I love the words and images I find on here - and constantly tell other photocrazy friends - I'm just gutted I can't be inspired by the flickr pool images as flickr is banned by our Government here.. Keep it up...

I'm so in love with this blog and its community that I share it with every woman I know, even if the're not photographers there is always something here to inspire what ever shape your creativity takes...

Thank for it all...
I just shared my first photo yesterday on OWP. I've been lurking on Shutter Sisters for quite a while now and have been shy with sharing. But I love this blog and the women who share, so I finally joined. Of course, I share Shutter Sisters with all my photo friends and on my own blog.

Shutter Sisters has been one of my top recommended photography blogs for over a year now. It's been a wonderful journey.

I am sharing Shutter Sisters on my blog. I love the necklaces of course, but it's not about the necklaces for me. It's more about growing. Thank you.

I was incredibly thrilled to have one of my photos posted as part of the one word project this month (aromachock), so I went on Facebook and shared the news with everyone I know...well...on facebook. :)

I have placed a button on my blog and am talking on Facebook. Though fairly new to this site, it's bookmarked as a favorite and I'm still reading through all the levels. I am excited to be part of a community of women with a common interest and have shared with a couple of other "shutterbugs." It's a wonderful gathering place. I would also love to have a necklace to wear proudly...a conversation piece which would spark even more interest in the SS site.

this is such a great place to come for inspiration and i have really needed it lately. i linked this site and the SS flickr pool on my blog today. i've been an absent blogger a bit and decided that this is the summer to really learn how to use my camera. i will be focusing on more visuals and fewer words on my site. i also have buttons for SS and the OWP up. i've been excited about the OWP since the beginning, but have had a difficult time getting the shots i want. looking forward to participating more in such a great and inspirational project!
cheers to spreading the word!! so glad you are here!

I've been doing my best to spread the word by sharing pics (quite often) on my blog with a tag back to SS. Love the site!! All you ladies keep me on my toes and make me want to be better!

I work for Apple and with so many talented photographers in the group, not one had heard of Shutter Sisters! (SHOCK & AWE) , now we check it on our breaks and it's bookmarked on all our break room computers!

I've been sharing you all on my blog for a while now, but this is a reminder, that I should let all my facebook friends know about you too!

I share Shutter Sisters all the time! I send friends and family -- and just this past month, I shared it with my students! I teach a photojournalism class at Marist College, and have some amazing student photographers in there. They hadn't found Shutter Sisters or Flickr yet -- I fully expect them to be tearing up the pool in no time! :)
