water, water everywhere

I've always loved the organic nature of water -- I've even dedicated an entire project to it on my blog.  So last week, when the temperatures in Houston were hovering near the 100s and I decided to take my daughter and her friend to play in the fountains of Discovery Green in downtown Houston,  I relished the opportunity to shoot some more water shots.

So on these hazy, lazy days of summer, share with us your own water shots, whether they be of a glass filled with icecubes, or a serene beach shot.

I have been a reader and fan of the Shutter Sisters blog for awhile and I LOVE it, but this is the first time I have ever posted a comment :) Summer and water are 2 of my very favorite things so I just had to share these photos!

Not your typical water shot, but a necessary thing if you have or work on a farm:

and here's a fun shot of a sturgeon...the biggest fresh water fish in N. America, so I've been told.

On a recent trip to Charlotte, we visited the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens where they had the neatest fountain! I had a good time cooling off :D

Wonderful shots! The girls looks so carefree. I took a walk behind our hospital on my lunch hour yesterday to photograph the fabulous clouds reflected in the pond. We've had wonderful fluffy clouds the past few days and they look glorious reflected in the water. i've not done them justice at all.

I've been following Shutter Sisters for a few weeks now and am finally posting a picture. This little crab making ripples in the shallow waters of Stratford Beach, Prince Edward Island, is one of the few water images in my collection. I'm working on adding some more water-related images to flickr - ducks and ducklings at the nearby lake.

Wow! Karen, those shots are amazing! We still have pretty chilly temperatures here, especially for it being July. Here's some chilly water that we saw this past weekend:

I really should get a waterproof housing for my camera, because I get dangerously close for water shots! Great inspiration in this post... Here are a couple of my wet & wild favorites:

I need to experiment with water shots more. I love how water changes color depending on what is reflected. Here are a few from a trip to the lake.

Living on the west coast of Florida, there's lots of opportunities for water shots...be it rain, the beach, a hotel fountain or a local park.

Well I spent yesterday {Thursday} in the pool at my parents place but don't have any pictures since I was actually in the water. But my family and I have been getting in lots of time in the water so far this summer as shown in my blog post earlier this week. http://camerapatty.wordpress.com/2009/07/05/potd-weekend-highlights/

Wishing everyone a scent-sational weekend!
