the magic wand

You don't have to look far to find the joy of simple pleasures during the summer. This is the season where everything feels a little easier and breezier somehow. Whether it's the sprinklersjump rope or bubbles, the simplicity of summer elements can make for the most delicious photography. Just take a look in the One Word Project Flickr group for summer. Awesome.

Today, get out your wands and show us some bubble magic. It's not as easy as it looks to catch these little round wonders as my daughter can attest. It took lots of bubble blowing for me to even get something in focus! This was my favorite shot of the day because it caught a perfect reflection of my house. No, I don't live in an Italian Villa although the reflection kind of looks like one.

Can't wait to see what fun you capture...up, up and away.

What a fantastic image Tracey. Amazing how you captured those reflections. Can't say I've tried to capture any bubble magic. Thought I'd share a bit of summer's joy:

One from a few weeks ago. I was actually trying to get big, bubbly bokeh in the background - the bubble itself was secondary!

I got a little carried away with the bubbles. My cat LOVES bubbles - so we had a little bit of fun.

What a fabulously well timed post! I was just taking some photos of my kids with some bubbles this afternoon.
Here is one of my favorites. The shot of the house reflected in the bubble is fantastic!

These bubbles were captured on the 4th of July while we were all waiting on the fireworks to begin...hundreds of kids were running around with bubble-blowing-guns, so there were bubbles aplenty!

This is one of the coolest bubble shots I have seen. That blue/green color caught my eye instantly...then the reflection...wow! I have so been meaning to try this...in fact I may go for it today while the sun is actually shining. I also have to say there was some major thrill here when I clicked on the sprinkler link and it came up as one of my photos! Thank you so much, I know you mentioned that in the group pool discussion but never gave it another thought :)

Wow! What lovely contrast! I had trouble getting as much contrast in mine, but I liked the way the wind was shaping it.
