focus motherhood

This is me.  The momma.  In the background, watching, observing, snapping away.

This is them; crazy, silly, messy, loud, creative, beautiful, mine.

This is my focus.  This is the me right now, this moment.  I am blessed to be present and capture our every day moments of beauty.  The little big things make make our life so full.   As they grow I will be needed less and less and that will surely bring a shift in my focus, but for now this is me, this is my focus, and I like that.

What is your focus right now?

Help us celebrate this month's One Word and share a capture of your focus today.

As far as photography is concerned, right now my focus is on building a clientele and marketing my business. And, of course, my son.

What a beautiful, sweet image! My focus right now is on exploring the desert as I'll likely be leaving it soon. Sad, beautiful and a little eerie, the ghost towns and ruins of the Salton Sea are my current obsession:

I am focusing on the beauty around me, trying to be grateful for what I am able to enjoy here, even if in my heart I am longing to move on....

I adore pictures like this... peeking into a moment of your life.
Lately I've been struggling with my focus. Trying to balance a job, the kids and trying to build some kind of silly little career doing this photography thing. It's like juggling 50 or so balls all at once, just waiting for one of them to drop.
Despite it all my first focus is always, without fail, on these adorable little balls of energy:

My focus lately has been on things that don't seem beautiful at first glance, but when looked at more closely have a unique beauty.

where i'd like to put my focus is on making new rings for my etsy shop but it's hard to do with a full time job and a job that requires many late nights - as in working until 11 or so several times a month.

Being a parent is the most important focus I've ever had...and now my focus is on balancing all the other parts of my life so that I can have time to drink it all in...http://www.flickr.com/photos/ko2008/5133502843/

I take a million pictures of my son, but lately I've been making the effort to widen my gaze. As much as I love to shoot my kid, it's been so freeing to give myself permission to shoot the world around me. And it's had the added benefit of leaving me agape with wonder half the time.

Yesterday morning this completely amazing scene drew me to it. I had a buzz from it all day.

my focus right now is just to enjoy life. i feel like i've missed a lot of fun opportunities because i've been busy with school and work. so i've decided to finally take those trips to other places that i've been waiting for the perfect time to take. i learned if i continue to wait for the perfect time, it will never come.

so here are a few photos of my most recent adventure: http://helloannabeth.wordpress.com/

My focus is constantly shifting and recomposing. I used to think I was a pretty focused individual. Three kids, a husband and a photography business later...huh...what? Where were we? What were we talking about again...ummm, oh yeah...focus. Beneath it all, right or wrong, I do try to focus on the joy. The beauty in the chaos. My focus for now..and somehow I think for a long time to come...finding the beautiful chaos (luckily it's everywhere).

What a fantastic shot!

My dog is a rescue who has had a lot of hard knocks, including a couple of medical conditions, one of which will shorten her life considerably. It takes some work to keep her alive, including a lot of medication and routine testing. She frequently comes before anything else in my life, and she makes my life infinitely better. I'm happy to make her my focus.

My focus is the same as yours...these precious, wonderful daily moments that mark the first years of our daughter's life, the years when our lives are most closely entwined.
