a study in focus

"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence." -Ansel Adams
As November closes with it ends our One Word, "focus". It is clear that we are all speaking with our images as Ansel so beautifully said. You have shared with us what you focus on, who you focus on. How some days are clearly in focus, where others are nothing more than beautiful blur. Some focused on the bigger picture where others focused on the tiny details. Whatever your focus, how we see and what we choose to point our lenses at each day, is what makes this such a beautiful space.
Thank you for sharing all your images of focus and thank you to Focal Press our fabulous publisher for sponsoring this month's One Word Project.
Are you feeling focused today? Or perhaps things seem slightly out of focus? Lets all pick up our cameras and share just what focus means to us this one last time. Don't forget to add your images and words here in our comments, but also in the Shutter Sister's OWP Flickr Pool.

Now that the leaves are off the trees it's easy to focus on the details. Also, I 'm trying to identify this tree. :>)

This coming April will mark the 20th anniversary of my daddy's death. One day he left for work (a sign painter--painting billboards that day) and accidentally fell 80+ feet to his death (in front of my 18 yr old brother). My mom was left with myself and my 7 siblings-alone. It has been a long road with many ups and downs, but being a mom now I can empathize with my mom in many ways that I just never understood as a child. A few things I come away with when thinking of her is that she is strong, and faithful to the core.
Three years ago, a mom lost her very long long fight to cancer-leaving behind 3 children-the youngest, an 11 year old girl.
On a beautiful fall day, on the New England coast. Two families met to become one. My mom's 8 children (and spouses), and now 9 grandchildren...along with our 3 new siblings. It was just us-quiet, simple, and we circled our parents to watch them promise their love and join both our families into one.

I have tended to get up close this month to the last bits of color amongst the sticks of the pending winter.
