sharing what matters

Hey Sisters! Have you heard? What you're doing matters! Yes, I am talking to YOU.

If you ask me, I'd say we're riding the wave of pure and positiveaffirmation! It's awesome. And in the name of self-kindness, I hope you can take today and embrace the wonder that you are. Right here, right now, as you are.

And speaking of kindness, want a way to give a little back to people who need it most right now? It's easy, just bid on your favorite image from some of our talented community of Shutter Sisters who have work up for auction at the Mom 2.0 Summit Exhibit Auction. The same images that were hung at the FotoFest Gallery in Houston! All proceeds will benefit Haiti relief efforts so you're not only going to get inspired, you're going to give something in return. It's a windfall of kindness!

Today, turn your lens toward positivity, toward kindness, toward the creativity that makes what we do as Shutter Sisters so darn special. Our collective good energy makes a difference. Share what you shoot with us!

That's one of the things I love most about photography - the ability to make a difference to others, whether it is joining the Think Pink organization, or taking pro bono senior photos for a deserving young person, or donating prints to a charity auction - I love being able to make a difference, no matter how small. Thanks for that reminder, Tracey.

Thank you so much! Sometimes I think the work of mothering is only visible at the mistakes. You spend so much of your energy keeping the family machine well-oiled and moving forward, it's easy not to see or be recognized for your efforts until something breaks. I let a few things slip this morning, and I was beating myself up about them & then I saw this.
I quit the self-flagellation, made myself a good brunch, packed the boy a lunch and took him on an impromptu after pre-school picnic. All better now.
That shirt is really wonderful - it and your words went right to the heart of me today.

Holding good thoughts and sending them the way of the auction. Amazing works of mother-art.

I volunteered this weekend to take some photos of a special moment at church for some friends - definitely stepping out of my comfort zone but I wanted to create a chance for them to have some sharp images of the event, which I knew my snazzy camera could provide...

also, nothing seems so positive as an entire museum dedicated to children's play and learning -

Love the images at the auction!

I printed out the photo and taped it to the cabinet above my desk at the office as a daily affirmation. :-) Thank you!
