I recently had an epiphanie about processing my photos. For a long time I considered it 'cheating'. As if somehow I wasn't technically proficient enough to get the photos I wanted in the first place then I didn't deserve to 'fake' it. I only recently realized that the processing is part of the art. Duh.

You know how everyone tells you "do it today, because, you may not be able to tomorrow"? Well, that really hit me last night in the strangest way. I had been reading an inspiring photography book and could hardly put it down to go to bed. Strangely, I thought about not having the chance to try my new ideas out if my tomorrow weren't to arrive.

I learned more about lighting yesterday in a online wedding workshop by Ziser. Now at least when I see artificially backlit photos, I'll know what I am looking at! He has a lot of neat high tech (assistant held) lights, which are part of his process. Makes me look at some things differently.

I love the bags!

LOVE these bags!!! My latest epiphanie was that I 'just a minute' my kids WAY too much. Last night, I stopped the procrastinating and enjoyed the moments!

My latest "epiphanie" stems from a joke I heard recently: A photographer goes to a dinner party and the guests rave about his pictures. The host pulls him aside and says, "Your photos are really fantastic. You must have a REALLY good camera." At the end of the night as the photographer is leaving he turns to the host and says, "The meal was wonderful. You must have some REALLY good pots." I don't have to have the latest and greatest camera, I just need to know how to use what I've got.

My latest epiphany was learning to not be too hard on myself when taking photos.. I judge myself much more harshly then other people and since I've been doing the 365 project I've been more so. Last week I realized that I need to give myself the same courtesy that I give others..

These bags are beautiful..:-)

peace

Maile, when my bag came a couple of weeks ago, I was absolutely thrilled. It's GORGEOUS. Even men were complimenting me on it. Now I want another one, the brown one please? Thank you so much for putting out such a great product and one that I just love, and I'm not an "accesory" person. I do believe though that it's a critical part of a girl's photography arsenal! So thank you! It's beautiful!

I have taken so few photos over the winter because the lighting isn't really the best for photos and I didn't take many last summer when we were camping because it ended up being rainy and dreary. Now, I'm so angry with myself for not just going ahead and taking pictures without worrying about the lighting. Maybe they wouldn't have been the best, but now I have nothing. So my epiphanie is that if that I don't take photos, I won't have any. Kind of obvious, but true.
Really beautiful bags. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

My latest Epiphanie is that so far, my Project 365 is kind of easy. I may not be taking the most beautiful shot, or the most technically correct shot, or a shot that will make people look twice. But I'm taking shots of our every day lives. I'm capturing more of the little things my kids do. And I think these are the things I'm going to miss when they grow up.

Yay! Great giveaway.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLaura
My latest Epiphanie is that my 6 month old baby girl changes a little bit every day and I need to take more photos to document the journey!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterRory
I love those bags, I have the red one and it's awesome! :) My latest epiphanie is that taking pictures is FUN! Lol, that may sound so obvious to so many people, but I guess I'd fallen into the project 365 trap and feeling rather blegh about pictures. And then I just started taking pictures of anything I wanted and I'm loving it!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAri
There is absolutely no need to justify myself. Because I am. This is absolutely enough. :)
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAnnika Christine
Sweet. I start my morning here each day, so what a nice surprise! Thanks for the daily creativity boost!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDiane
Slow down and figure out what you want in life. You are allowed to do that. Take it for yourself because no one will give it to you!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLori
If I overexpose a little in camera I won't have to keep adding exposure/brightness in ACR. This was a "duh" moment for me.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAshley Gillett
This may sound cliche, but I've recently realized how important it is to enjoy the little things in life because one day I'll look back and realize the little things were really the big things.
My latest epiphanie... I really can do anything I set my mind to. I always say "it's not rocket science" well neither is starting a new venture. It just takes guts, and no fear of failure for me - what's the worse that could happen? ....I'll get over it :)

beautiful bags, thanks for the giveaway!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterclaudia
My latest epiphanie...it is all a frame of mind.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAmy N
I would love to win a bag I need a new camera bag for my shoots..
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTisha
My latest epiphanies: It really IS possible to have a positive attitude all the time - you just have to talk yourself into it...and stop taking pictures for other people's approval. My project 365 is helping me to enjoy the process, not what people think of the end product.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterKris
I am in love with these bags!! I've wanted one since they first came out!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterKelley
I have always taken pictures of my family, of our vacations, of our lives. But it was only recently that I discovered how much I love photography as a form of art. That is my epiphanie!

And I would love love one of THOSE Epiphanies....the red one please!!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJoLyn
I am approaching my 29th birthday (tomorrow actually!!) and I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately and have come to realize that I have just been sitting around waiting on life to happen to me instead of making it happen for myself. I've had an "epiphanie" and now realize that I have to get out and MAKE my dreams come true because it's not just going to happen on its own. So, I've set a goal for myself (which is scary for me) and have decided that I WILL have my own photography business by the time I'm 30. I'm so excited and scared for this journey and can't wait for all that I will learn along the way! Thank you Shutter Sisters for being such an amazing inspiration for me!!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterEmma
Life is too short to be unhappy. Look for the good and smile! The bags are awesome! I am always on the search for the best bag.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterpaula
I don't know if it's my latest but it's sure one that came up recently for the umpteenth time. You can absolutely never guess what other people are going to freaking do! Just at the moment when you think you've got them all figured out WHOMP! they bust out with something that knocks you flat.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterKizz
Drooling over the red bag! I have recently decided that I have no idea what is a "good picture." I know what I think looks good but sometimes when I see a picture that everyone else considers wonderful art, I just can not see why. Maybe it's time for a theory class?
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMelanie
My latest "epiphanie" or realization is I am not in need of a manly, black, boring camera bag for my camera and lenses. Just because they are more available (and sometimes cheaper) doesn't mean I am giving in. I want a feminine camera that shouts style and functionality, in other words, EPIPHANIE bags. ;)
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterJoy
i love a give away , especially for something as nice as this and i've been looking for a good camera bag. i want a red one.

Such pretty bags! And I love how they look like purses.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered Commentershutterboo
I think I'm on my way to an epiphany:) questing for balance -- between art and work, self and others, acceptance and change. Well, and lots of other things, too!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterHeather
I can never resist a photography-related giveaway. Besides, these awesome bags are on my wish list anyway.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLeah
My epiphanie would be that I would love to have a new camera bag but I'm trying to be frugal. Hmm, if only I could win one. That would be awesome.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMelodyA.
Um, that perhaps carrying my camera around in my purse is not the best idea! ;)
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered Commentermandiegirl
My epiphanie is that I seriously need to get myself a decent camera bag!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLynne
Just because something doesn't turn out the way you intended, doesn't mean it's a mistake...

I'm not sure if it counts as an epiphany if it's a lesson you keep leaning over and over, but that's all I've got today.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered Commentersarah
Recently on my own website I talked about an epiphany I had while driving home from the park with my birds. Seeing there beauty and having a woman at the park tell me that they got their beauty from me; I'm there mother so of course they got it from me. And it made me think perhaps beauty is not something we can be but rather something that just is.

Sometimes you just have to capture the moment - even if you aren't prepared to and then relish that it was captured, even imperfectly.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterM
My recent epiphanie was that certain people in my life are teachers. Seeing them this way helps me to appreciate their presence in a way that I couldn't before.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterStephanie
My latest epiphany was how easy it is to use a texture in photoshop to create a unique look for my photos. I'd been wanting to learn how for years, and finally sat down to do it. It was way easier than I'd thought! Love the bags!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered Commenteramy
My greates epiphanie has been that I can't control or change anyone else. That I can only be in charge of my own hapiness.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterKellie
My latest epiphanie? If I am happy with myself, everyone around me will be happier and want to be around me too!
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterdivrchk
One that I had several years ago, but still comes up often--even this week--is to live life and enjoy life right where you are, in your present circumstances. Don't put things off because you're waiting for "this" or "that". Those things often never come, or take longer then we hoped. In the meantime life--the day to day joys--could be passing you by.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterToni
I am waiting for an epiphany. I cannot remember the last time I was excited about taking photos, which makes me very sad.

I think my epiphany may be that I just need to pick up a camera again.
March 4, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAppleTree
Beautiful bag, it would sure beat caring around an ugly canon bag.
