holding on

Hold

The One Word Project Flickr pool is brimming with images translating our April word, hold. They are stirring and touching, poignant and playful. Things to hold. Things that hold. Holding on and holding out. Hanging, grippingcupping, cradling, spooning; one as moving as the next. As always, I am inspired by what you've chosen to shoot and share for the project this month, like the stellar capture above taken by Maryeleach. Wow! And thank you.

And thanks to Epiphanie Bags for sparking our creative spirits with such a compelling and evocative word to interpret. Something about the word hold that makes me feel loved and cared for. How about you?

And yet, tomorrow is another day which starts a new month and a whole new word for our project. We must say good-bye to hold, but only after we properly send it off on it's way. Show us a hand or heart or anything that says hold to you today as a symbol of letting go.

Neither a hand..nor a heart. Quite simply - holding on to these last vestiges of spring:

Thank you for including my photo in your wrap up for April. I have enjoyed contributing and sharing this month and am looking forward to May. Every day my Shutter Sisters inspire and delight me, thank you all.

I have already shared but this one holds my heart in his small hands.... much too hard to let go!

What a wonderful photo! I don't have a really wonderful "hold" photo like this one, but I do have a photo of me holding my new macro lens.

Nothing in the world makes me as happy as seeing my husband hold our son.

WOW! It's such an honor to be in such great company. Thank you for sharing mine! All of these photos are so beautiful (including the ones in the comments) and I feel so blessed that mine has been included. Shutter Sisters has truly been a place of inspiration for me and I can't wait to see what next month will bring. :) It was such a beautiful moment capturing that newborn with her proud parents.

Great, great photos that had me ooh'ing and aww'ing but my favorite has got to be the spooning picture. That one made me "LOL" :)

(one last parting shot: TGIF!)

Being of a certain age, I've experienced a fair amount of loss in a relatively short period of time. My elderly cat, with me for 17 years and one of my last connections to my old life, is my latest lesson in holding on and letting go:

I'm alittle late (do I get credit for being up early on a Saturday, anyway?) but wanted to share this image from yesterday--one of things held, and holding on to:

Wow! My spooning spray nozzles are up there! Thanks so much for the recognition amongst so many other women, it made my day (or evening last night) when I saw it!!! I would never have seen them without a little nudge from Picture Spring & Tracey. I am truly grateful to be a part of such a wondeful group of women. I'm a little late, but here's another sign that love is in the air: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46922592@N00/3572374546/in/set-72157617505322983/

Beautiful image, Mary.
This is such an outstanding project. Anything to open minds, hearts, and mouths is an incredible thing to create and participate in. Thank you Shutter Sisters for inspiring, creating, and sharing.
And a special thank you for sharing my amazing friend, Mary's, photo this week. She is an amazing artist of both photos and writing...in my unbiased opinion of course..and her work deserves to be share and spread around the world for all to enjoy!

I am so proud of you Mary! You never cease to amaze or surprise me in your conquering of every goal you set. I truly have no words to express exactly how much you have touched my life in every way.
Love you sistah!

I have been missing in action. mourning my best friend of 18 years, my Maggie cat, only appearing here and there, and had no idea my blue bowl was included in your post. I am quite honored and flattered and humbled to be included with such fabulous images. The one above is touching, in more ways than one. Thank you. And PS - instamaticgratification, I understand. Sending thoughts and good vibes your way.
