lyrical

"I will live my life as a lobsterman's wife on an island in the blue bay.
He will take care of me, he will smell like the sea,
And close to my heart he'll always stay.

I will bear three girls all with strawberry curls, little Ella and
Nelly and Faye.
While I'm combing their hair, I will catch his warm stare
On our island in the blue bay.

Far away far away, I want to go far away.
To a new life on a new shore line.
Where the water is blue and the people are new.
To another island, in another life."

[lyrics to Far Away by Ingrid Michaelson]

Those are beautiful lyrics. I especially adore, " and while combing their hair, I'll catch his warm stare..."
Oh the love!!

This one reminds me of the song: 'Pretty Woman'..only made plural instead of singular.
Y'know..'Pretty women..walking down the street..Pretty women..the one I'd like to meet....'

Your image and lyrics are perfect!
My most recent session, his momma and I sang Rockin Robin (Jackson 5 style) to this baby: he's in that on-all-fours rock back and forth stage. I'm still singing the tune days later!

My boyfriend and I are long distance for the next few months (until I finish school). I spend most of my weekends visiting him in San Francisco. Every time I leave, I think of the Tony Bennett song "I Left My Heart In San Francisco."

Absolutely gorgeous image and the words to the song go perfectly!
Here's one I posted over a year ago and it is accompanied by lyrics I actually wrote many years ago. No music was ever written, though.

I can feel the grainy roughness of the boat, the hollow sound of water hitting the boat, the smell of the water, a mixture of gasoline, lake/sea air and fish. I can also feel the coolish air that comes with being on water. The sun beating down. I love those things. I miss them.
This is what stuck me when I saw this picture.
thanks, MBB

So often I get songs stuck in my head, and then go out and take a photo to reflect this.

Here's an example from my photostream - "I will follow you into the dark" by Death Cab For Cutie http://www.flickr.com/photos/everythingremindsmeofyou/3523172224/

I'm so glad I'm not the only one ;)
I come from a long line of people who can't really sing, well we CAN sing and break out in song regularly... Maybe I should say we SHOULDN'T sing lol. Love the photo and the melody that was attached to them!

I took this photo later in the day after reading your post, and instantly I got two songs in my head: "I've Just Seen a Face" and my friend Liz's song, "Underground."

Thanks for putting the thought into my head to listen for songs when I take photos!

Oh yes, most definitely! The shot I took of my husband's ship, HMS Ark Royal, leaving the harbour for a 5 month deployment cried out the classic Otis Redding song 'Sitting on the Dock of the Bay'. Beautiful song, excellent lyrics and combined with the photo, a tearjerker!

beautiful image! When I get my photos back from the lab, often a song lyric pops into my head when I look at a picture rather than being inspired to take the picture because of a particular lyric
