equal parts

Having a 12-year-old foodie in the house is equal parts bliss and tempatation. I couldn't resist these cookies she made on a number of levels. Obviously.

Share with us today the power of two (or more). Whether it's a before and after, a sequence of something, a collection of sorts, a gathering of goodness, or just plain incriminating evidence revealing the truth of the matter, share with us something that reminds us that there is always more to the story.

You couldn't resist! Not when they were made by your baby.

More to the story? This picture was taken about 2 minutes before that adorable little boy gave his sister a bloody nose while jumping on the bed.

Making diptychs is an interesting challenge I think; I enjoy figuring out how to tell a story in two photos like you do above - reducing a pile of cookies to a few bits and crumbs is a great way to show the usual fate of yummy cookies like that :)

One of my own diptychs that I think works okay is this one::

And then I love this one, which occurred naturally when I failed to wind the film far enough forward:

There's more to the story at Vision and Verb today. I hope to finish it some time!

These photographs work as a group, moving from a start to a finish. But they echo a bigger process of moving from a start to a finish.

mmmmmm.... now i want cookies for breakfast! love these shots together.

how funny that you used the word foodie today. i used that word in my post yesterday. i can honestly say, i've never mentioned that word in all the time i've been blogging, so it was neat to see it here today. and thanks for reminding me from your prompt to add the before shots of my recipe that i shared yesterday:

originally, i only had the shots of the final prepared dish, and you made me remember that i had taken some while i was making it.

We're on the same page today. :) I have before & after shot but of a different type. I got very excited to pick fresh cherries off our tree and the excitement resulted in a cherry-stained tank top!

a flickr friend put together a group for pairs "Two for Tuesday", I've been having alot of fun with combining, telling a story or just pairing things that seem to work together.

Here's a little liquid refreshment:

and in this diptych, there is a heartwarming story though it seems like an ordinary scene:

Happy weekend.

I love these delicious-looking photos, and I love that you have a 12-year-old daughter. I have a 13-year-old and an 11-year-old -- both daughters.

local milk delivery (which sadly just ended -- the farmer was too old and didn't have anyone to take over for him):

and Stephanie's cherries reminded me of this one of cherries on the tree and then canned:
