mini exhibition

Do you find corners in your house have become personal mini exhibitions, of things you love or have found, items gathered and added to your collections? Is your work displayed for you to enjoy, remember and reflect, or do you have pieces from other artists who inspire you?

You can be so creative - I see people using beautiful colourful windowsills, fireplaces and shelves, to express themselves, with exhibits in their own space.

I love sneaking a look inside other people’s homes, why don’t you share today anything you are collecting and displaying? because the way we show our collections does express a little something about who we are and what we love.

The "I love you more than all the stars" decal, is by the very talented Shanna Murray.

Here's a corner I love - not the inside of my house..and not a display..but thought I'd share it anyway:

I am only collecting images and memories lately like these from the other day.

My sewing room is my own little private space. My husband has NO input into how much floral or pink or blue is involved and I can mess it up to my heart's content.

I found these hoops at the thrift store and fell in love.

Filled with my favorite current fabrics, they are the first thing that I see when I enter the room.

I love your space as well, BTW.

I have an unsuspecting collection of things I love - accumulating on my book shelf in my office. Each trip brought me just one tiny treasure.

I go through little stages of energy where I have to rearrange my environment. This was one of them.

I'm sharing with you a little corner of my home. Some pieces of the past. I'm a lover of antiques.

My walls are filled with collections of art work by friends, family and myself. Because each piece means something to me I have a hard time NOT hanging them all up. Which means that I will probably never be able to pull off the minimalism that I love so much in other people's homes.

I visited The Ryedale Folk Museum, North Yorkshire in June. Obviously the photographer's studio held me enthralled for ages. The desk behind glass, in the studio was a wonderful mini exhibition, though sadly not arranged by me.

I used to have little niches displaying my favourite things/photos when I didn't have kids. I don't have one now but your post made me think that maybe it's time to carve out my own little space (outside of the Internet, that is).

I love the display with the little rocks on the boards. My husband had the collection of bottles on the window sill and I thought they needed a little help. Here is what I came up with.
