this means i love you

Dear Chicago,

You have a convincing way of coaxing me into grabbing my camera to rendezvous with you when the sun has long disappeared, and you've created your own constellations out of twinkle lights and neon signs.  We wander arm in arm as you tell stories and whisper sweet nuthin's to my camera, and I wonder how I ever got so lucky to be here in this very moment, to bear witness to the beauty that is you enveloped in the unexpected light of night. I have snubbed sleep and forgotten my need for food to be here with you, and not just tonight but on many other nights. Surely this must mean that I love you. And I can't help but think that you love me, too.

xoxo,

Sarah-Ji

P.S. I know I often prattle on and on about Pacific NW beauties like Seattle and Portland and the Olympic peninsula, but rest assured that you are my first and true love.

Today, express your love via your images, be they for specific people, a place, a thought, or the whole universe. And if you want to write a little love letter, don't hold back.

Oh, how I love your picture and words! Night photography has entranced me as well. And certain cities have a special beauty and energy at night. Venice has my heart in this category:

The more time I spend here, the more I love the desert especially as day turns into night:

My love for the place I visit most often. In the early morning. Before night turns into day:

I visisted Chicago all by myself a few years ago, but was too lonely and scared to appreciate it after dark - I regret that now, after reading this post.

I will always and forever be in love with the sea, everywhere, in its every aspect. From the blue and calm

to the noisy and dramatic

Love your story. Inspired me to post this photo of one of my favorite places...it's not nighttime but dusk and the light was amazing.

Autumn is indeed in the air and although the change is welcome after our hot summer, I'm still a child of summer and the beach is my favorite place. I won't tell you where "my" beach is; if you love beaches, you can pretend this is "your" beach as well as we say farewell to Summer of 2010.

I love being by the ocean...especially in the early morning, just as the sun is rising...or in the evening, at dusk, just before the sun is getting ready to set. There are very few people (some fisherman, some shell collectors) and it's just so peaceful & beautiful.

Hey, it's the Hideout! Good place.

I guess I'll show my love for Chicago (my current hometown) too, via the lakefront. I'm so lucky to have this as my beautiful bike commute.

I love the upstairs window in that photo--just perfect.

here's a night shot from a couple of days ago--two people I love at one of our favorite places (our community pool, though it's not a pool shot):

Amazing photo! I aspire to reach that level.
Just by chance, today I posted some pics about my wonderful weekend spent in a city closed to Rome: Ariccia.
It's the place where my boyfriend lived his holidays as child. It's a magic place: full of silence, peace, fresch air.
Nothing special, just (with all the power of just) a place where find peace.

Banale shots, good memories for me http://machetiseimangiato.com/2010/09/momenti-di-pace-di-una-blogger/
