loved

A bell is no bell 'til you ring it,

A song is no song 'til you sing it,

And love in your heart

Wasn’t put there to stay -

Love isn’t love

'Til you give it away.

~Oscar Hammerstein

There is usually one holiday gift each year that speaks to my heart.  Sometimes it is a handmade card from one of the boys, a silly trinket in my stocking, or that perfect gift that only Santa knew I wanted.

This year,  love came to me in the mail from Camp Sister, Chelsea.  A tangible reminder that I can wrap my hands around, feel the warmth, and bask in the knowledge that I am important to others.

Today, share with us a photo that reminds you that you too are loved.   It is such a wonderful feeling.

Not exactly a holiday gift...but something I found that reminded me of a tiny heart and love:

In each of these photos is an ornament I was given by 2 thoughtful friends, to think that someone would get me a gift because they know something small about me that I love, shows me that someone thought of me this Christmas, it is a nice feeling :) I am blessed

Last night we were just hanging out with the one child that is still home from college for winter break. It was nice to just hang with him. Maybe not so much that I am loved but maybe that he is so loved. It all works out I guess.

I love Photography with all my heart, and my husband knows that, and makes such an effort to care about it too for my sake. He's always pushing me to try something new or emailing me articles and tips. When he saw this photo I took he said: "Great Boka babe!" lol :-)

My Dad gave me my late grandfather's Polaroid camera for Christmas - a tangible reminder that I am blessed with love from my family:

My Mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, we don't know how she'll be next year. She gave me this for Christmas and I know I will treasure it for the rest of my life. (sniff)

sadly, i don't have a picture (yet) but this year my stocking was quite stuffed with pashmina scarves. i LOVE scarves - all different kinds and all different colours - but am still somewhat picky. he had bought some in the past and they were sweet and thoughtful, but didn't really say much. this year, though, WOAH! Three of them! In the most fantastic colours too! I draped them all around and wore them all for most of the day - much to the amusement of everyone else. Just when I thought he might not pull through with the 'aha' gift this year, he surprised me.

My parents died when I was in college and then I didn't find love until my late 30s. Just the house being full of people I love...that's the best gift ever.
