my monday word

Words... they’ve had a big impact on me this month... I’ve taken to writing them on stones and leaving them around the house... and I whisper the word as I pass by it. It may sound silly, but it’s really working for me.

Here’s the word I need today... calm... for a Monday, with a busy week ahead of work, needing to focus, and not get overwhelmed.... alongside all the life stuff that comes my way. I'd like to be calm.

What word do you need to whisper to yourself today? Please share with us today.

I have to drive over an hour to an appointment this morning and the journey there is always so stressful. Perhaps I could use your stone and instill a sense of calm as I set off.

My word is lighten. To not over-think and brood over things. To let go of the load of thoughts running through my head. To let it go and smile. And take a deep breath and smile.

Your photo is so beautiful and peaceful, zenlike to look at

my friend Catherine is a teacher and each January she asks the children in her classroom
to choose a work and carry it in their pocket in class each day:)

I need to whisper *joy.* It's all around me, I just need to see it and celebrate it.

Great picture! My word is "Fear". This year I want it to be a year where I move forward and don't let fear stop me from going after my dreams!

BRAVE. I need to tell myself to be brave. This is not my OLW but this is what I've needed to tell myself the last few days. Be brave to reach out, be brave to take risks, be brave to believe in myself, be brave to do those things on my to-do list that are currently scaring me. Wonderful idea to have to words around your house!

Have just found you via Diane Hock's blog,
after recently discovering the magnificent 'twelve by twelve' . . .
Have been creating 6 word stories for years to accompany my images,
but am recently entranced with the ONE word concept! Who knows where this
will all lead? It's a very exciting journey!

The first one that came to mind for me was "pace"... as in pace myself, and keep from trying to do EVERYTHING at once.

appreciate.

I'm learning to appreciate more, to want less and understand more that what I have is all I need.
