Illusions

Meet Sophie....my brother's very silly labradoodle...and Ben's bestie. The other day when we were out on our walk. The pups were playing away in the lake. I crouched down low and proceeded to snap some pics...Sophie caught eye of the phone and headed straight toward it. Click, click....

I was surprised to see the result when I arrived home. It appears as though she is walking on water. It's amazing what happens when we experiment a little with position, perspective..... etc. This was a happy accident, but it's inspired me to get a little more creative while snapping pics of the puppy dogs.

Today, share a little illusion... or perhaps a happy accident of your own. I'd love to see.

As soon as I saw your photo it reminded me of one I took recently when my friend and I escaped to Maine for a couple days. We knew we had to make a weekend escape happen before the insanity of our kids' spring activities began. The happy accident was the absolutely beautiful morning we awoke to. We threw on our sneakers, I grabbed my camera and off we went for a long walk on the beach. In addition to beautiful sand ripples from low tide there were many folks on morning walks with their dogs....mostly golden retrievers ecstatic to fetch their tennis balls. We stopped to watch this handsome dog, Finn, show off his retrieving skills. Here is Finn....

I'm always surprised at the patterns I can get from the sun if I tilt my camera just so ;)

As I finished chasing light around my neighbor's backyard, I had an afterthought to hold my camera down low in the weeds. The results surprised me.

In the last photo of this blog post, my son was peeking through the back window of a doll house but it made him look like Gulliver...

I was shooting down by the beach and was just randomly shooting anything, adjusting my camera to get some colors that I could work with, when a bird flew in to the frame. I really dig this photo now, probably more because of the randomness of the bird than anything else.
