what you need to hear

Images inspire me. To see the world differently. To recognize beauty. To honor the moment that is right now and to also remember what once was.

Words can do the same thing. Whether in sequence or in solidarity, the right words can sooth, encourage, nudge, or stir up somehing within me. Some words bekon me to slow down while others activate something inside me. Whatever it is I most need to hear, I always seem to find somehow. The Universe is mysterious and wonderful like that; delivering messages at just the right time.

Sometimes I appreciate most those words that allow me to relax and sink into a way of being that's full of peace and contentment.

Exhale, savor, rest, be.

Other times, I love soaking up the words that urge me to take action. Do something, activate something, set something within myself free.

Dance, dream, create, fly.

Have you stumbled across any words lately that reminded you of exactly what you needed to hear? Or was there a message that surprised and delighted you when you came across it? Share with us the words and images that remind you of something you want to carry with you.

And don't forget, it's Best Shot Monday so we'd love to see your favorite image from the week. Who knows, maybe it holds a hidden message as well.

Ironically, my post today at Vision and Verb is titled "Words."

And, my favorite image from last week is called "Secrets."

In a new effort to lose weight, the words scarcity and abundance play inside my head all the time. I used to photograph bakeries and the amazing pastries on their shelves but now I find myself photographing our Farmers' Market. Abundance is everywhere, scarcity exists in my mind.

LOVE this Tracey ....

I often "mess up" in life ...little things.. a few big .. and I recently came across this quote on grace . I paired it with one of my simple paper birds .. I carry the words with me and am happy to share today ~~

Beautiful image, Tracey! It's amazing how many signs and symbols we see every day that can bring meaning to our lives if we take notice.

Words that speak to me: "Lip service without the behavior has no value." Means different things to different people, but to me it simply means: do.

Yesterday my husband I went riding. At one point I pulled my phone out to check a message and realized that I had a camera in my hand and a very unique POV. I had a lot of fun snapping away and have since been trying to convince my husband that carrying my nikon back there would not be a problem :) :

We're almost done may and I've only just realized that the word I think best fits what I want from this year is "to watch". The word and intention behind it comes from a Roald Dalh quote that starts out "Above all, watch with glittering eyes...". Together they remind me that I cant just walk through life passively, I want to watch, participate, and be affected by what's around me. Through glittering eyes reminds me to look for the magic in even the small moments.

This is my picture that's inspired by my word (the full quote is in the description): http://www.flickr.com/photos/alxleask/7282852540/in/photostream

And for best shot monday (I'd love some feedback):

Lovely, Tracey! Lately, time has been kind of the center of my focus ... remembering to flow as part of it instead of battling against it. Slowing down and seeing, and this was the result when I did just that this past Saturday ~

Words are so powerful whether they are strung together to make a statement or just standing alone, quick to the point. Just yesterday my daughter requested that I make her a scrapbook, "Not just with pictures, but just like I used to with words and all". It meant a lot to me that my words meant a lot to her.

Here's my best shot:

Tracy, this shot is so evokative and your words so kind and inspiring, thank you :)

It feels like everyday I hear and see something that is exactly what I needed. I love that my girlfriends will listen to me repeat the words or talk about what I saw.

The words I seem to carry with me and come back to often are ---

"We are all just walking each other home" ~ Ram Dass
