feast

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

 -Derek Walcott

What a wonderful poem....
This image - I think - is a metaphor for the 'feast that is my life':

I love that poem... it keeps popping up in my Life! Thanks for reminding us to feast on our own Life.

I just created this image yesterday - my first attempt at a collage! It shares one of my most important practices: taking extended time to sit in Silence & Solitude as a way to connect with the Source of the Feast of my Life, as I understand it to be. Truly an exercise in Gratitude...

The "feast of my life," these days, seems to be meeting every day with a camera in hand. Here is a sampling of work:

The chain of generations that have come before me, and that will come after me, makes me who I am today.

Love this image. Rich with life.
To Thine Own Self Be True....Shakespeare would love this poem and I love that I will look in the mirror today and greet the girl that grins back a me with a smile from the heart...today I will feast upon life from the banquet table of bounty
