Browsing the Archives

It's no big secret that I'm a real pack rat.  In fact, I currently have 20+ boxes cluttering my living room just waiting for me to sort through them.  When it comes to photos, I'm pretty much the same way; I delete far too few, and I'm always scrounging around for enough space on my hard drive(s) to store everything.  Every now and then, however, I do like to browse through my archives, and sometimes I'll stumble upon a photo that I had totally forgotten about.  When that happens, it's like finding a misplaced treasure.

Since today is Father's Day, this photo above taken on our family vacation last year was the perfect find.

Today, try looking for your own hidden treasures buried in your archives, and don't forget to share your findings with us.  And if you have a special photo of a dad you'd like to honor today, please share those with us as well!

i have only recently started uploading photos to flickr - so by rights practically everything i have is archive (according to my husband & everyone else who knows me - i am a pack rat too - though obsessive about sorting photos)...

in honour of father`s day - here are a couple:

this is not a great shot - but a great memory: on this exact week last year we went on holiday to oregon - it was our BABYMOON (the last holiday you get before your first child)... i was almost 8months pregnant - my hub & dog are still carefree: http://www.flickr.com/photos/djbeat/3076857746/ this is especially sweet now as we prepare to leave for california with bb boy on tuesday...

i made a BLURB book for my bb daddy for his first father`s day - it is all photos of just bb boy & bb daddy (i love it & them both). this is one of my most treasured (yet imperfect) photos & moments...

it's not a photo I took, but it's in my archives from when we scanned all the really old family photos to our digital libraries...and with today being father's day, here's my dad, in his early 20's looking oh so handsome and already a father....

Gorgeous shot!!!

I just did a photo meme and found an older shot, rather fuzzy, but perfect for Father's Day!

Such a cool shot Sarah! I'm assuming you used a fill flash to get this look? It gives it a very different look.

Here's a story about a hidden treasure I've been carrying with me for many years and the three little words my father said to me that gave it so much meaning.

I'm a day late, but I finally finished the post I started yesterday morning after I read this post. I feel you on needing to thin out the archives to recover memory - I'm fighting that right now. So I had plenty of buried treasure that had recently been dug up to share.
