can you picture spring yet?

Are you as eager for spring as I am? Even beyond the weather, I am excited to announce the BIG thing that's will be starting on April 1st: Picture Spring! In true Shutter Sisters' style I will be leading a 30-day photo project to celebrate the season of promise and renewal.

Picture Spring is a daily e-class, hosted over at the ever-fabulous Big Picture Scrapbooking that will awaken your creative spirit and open your heart and mind to all the wonders that the spring has to offer. One picture at a time.

Pop over to the Picture Spring registration page for more details and sign up if you'd like to join us. Spread the word. Invite friends. Grab a button (see it over there on our sidebar? cute, huh?). Tweet it. Retweet it. Call your sister. The more the merrier! It's going to be a perfect way to grow and bloom this spring, cameras in hand. I can't wait!

And just to help get the snow melting (come on spring!) we're giving away 3 registrations today!

Share your pictures or words that sing of spring today (albeit a little early) and you'll be entered to win one of the complimentary registrations for the soon-coming Picture Spring.

Right now the only spring we can get comes from the grocery store, but it sure helps while we wait:

Oh, how exciting! And what a gorgeous image that demonstrates the promise of spring.
We're too far north to have anything remotely looking like spring, so this was taken last spring:

Here in Delaware, spring seems so far away! We just had about 25 inches this past weekend and currently we are in the beginning of ANOTHER storm. So, any flowers are certainly hibernating right now. I'm getting plenty of practice taking snow scenes!

yay spring! your project sounds like the perfect way to clear away the winter doldrums.

"O thou with dewy locks, who lookest down
Thro' the clear windows of the morning, turn
Thine angel eyes upon our western isle,
Which in full choir hails thy approach, O Spring!"

I am anxiously awaiting Spring's arrival...

Spring will be here very soon in Texas. Little mystery flowers show up each year about this time -

Here's a picture of early spring I took two years ago: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sweetgreenpea/2319239719/in/set-72157594443607754/

Right now it's still freezing cold outside...but the sun is shining a little brighter, and the days are getting a little longer, so I know spring is coming soon(ish).

Here in Maine, we have a long way to go before Spring, but amazingly, so far, we've had a much milder winder than the Mid-Atlantic. Many of my friends are actually WISHING for snow when usually this time of year, we just can't wait for it to be gone. My favorite Spring thing to do this time of year is to obsess over my seed catalogs and plan my garden.

A cloudy winter day at a butterfly exhibit followed by a day at a conservatory brought a little spring my way temporarily:

Spring is here
the grass is 'ris'
I wonder where
the flowers is?

Your post brought this memory to the surface--my mom reciting this poem and me thinking she was so "dorky". Now I recite the poem to my kids and they think I'm "lame"! Lame or not, I'm ready for spring!

As I look out the window here and see a white sheet of snow falling sideways, spring feels very, very far.

That said, I can't wait for spring. I've had enough of these blizzards!

In San Francisco in January, it might as well have been spring! (At least compared to the Ice Age that is Washington DC right now). http://www.dashily.com/home/?p=327

Spring = asparagus! http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcsupersmith/2610534069/

Since February is usually my least-favorite month, I'm doing an almost-daily photo post on my blog this month. A nice exercise in gratitude, and a good way to take stock of the photos I have and celebrate some of my favorites. I look forward to doing something similar in the spring. http://spinthetruth.wordpress.com/2010/02/10/728-countdown/
