Harvesting

I recently read a quote by Hundertwasser that said "Painting is to dream. When the dream
is over, I don t remember anything I dreamed about. The painting, however, remains. It is the harvest of my dream."

I thought that was a perfect quote for our Photography as well. On the daily basis, we pay attention to our surroundings, we enearth feelings, we reap best moments, and we find a way to make our vision tangible, lasting... We indeed work on the harvesting of our dreams.

I just love that as we're gathering bits and pieces of our lives, we are actually assembling something really powerful that will remain. It is so exciting for me to think that someday when we are long gone, our work may still live, feeding the inspiration of others, and consequently, continuing to produce more and more crops of nourishing Art in this world.

Now, show us: What sorts of beautiful images have you been harvesting lately?

...........

And because it's Giveaway May and we're taking about harvesting dreams here, we've got an amazing giveaway:

Kelly Rae, like Shutter Sisters, is one of those wonderful "secrets" I found when first exploring blogland, and you both have continued to be great inspirations and idols to me!!!! Thanks so much, shutter sisters, for the opportunity to win!!!!!

My fingers, toes, arms and legs will be crossed until the winner is announced! Which, actually, is kind making it hard to get anything done! But, it's worth it!!!! ; )

I have just discovered Kelly Rae's blog and website and am sooooo glad that I did! Kelly Rae is an absolute inspiration to me. I love art and painting but do not have the confidence to make it my career. I own and operate a farm tourism business which I like doing but would love it more if I could combine it with my love for art and open asmall gallery and cafe at our farm also. I really need Kelly to give me some "flying lessons" so that I can fly away from reality for just a little while and pursue my passion and dream! Please Kelly, help me to fly!!!

Hello, thank you so much for offering this fantastic giveaway! I have already booked to do this course, but I would like to enter on behalf of my best friend Nathalie, who has had such a tough time over the last 12 months, that I know she would be absolutely thrilled if she won. She has also just started creating her own dolls to sell, so that would be an added bonus to set her up.

I'm such a big fan of both Alex and Kelly Rae - two truly inspiring and creative souls. I would so love to participate in this course. It would certainly help me harvest inspiration to launch my dreams.

Lately, I've been spending time photographing people - specifically people I love. Here are some photos of my nephew on his third birthday. Spending time with him makes me realize how precious life is. Even though we can't freeze time, I hope these photos will help keep these memories alive.
