Harvesting

I recently read a quote by Hundertwasser that said "Painting is to dream. When the dream
is over, I don t remember anything I dreamed about. The painting, however, remains. It is the harvest of my dream."

I thought that was a perfect quote for our Photography as well. On the daily basis, we pay attention to our surroundings, we enearth feelings, we reap best moments, and we find a way to make our vision tangible, lasting... We indeed work on the harvesting of our dreams.

I just love that as we're gathering bits and pieces of our lives, we are actually assembling something really powerful that will remain. It is so exciting for me to think that someday when we are long gone, our work may still live, feeding the inspiration of others, and consequently, continuing to produce more and more crops of nourishing Art in this world.

Now, show us: What sorts of beautiful images have you been harvesting lately?

...........

And because it's Giveaway May and we're taking about harvesting dreams here, we've got an amazing giveaway:

What a fantastic opportunity - I love the theme it is inspiring me to keep at what I'm doing no matter how daunting and mundane some of the daily tasks seem. Collectively all the hard work and effort will pay off and the harvest will become my legacy.

Love your site always.

I agree "Painting is to dream", when I create or paint, it is the dream completed. I dream, think, imagine, pray, and comtemplate what will go on the canvas. If it is going to someone personally, I will make it personal. Seeking items and painting special things for that person. For example, I have done several for my granddaughter and incorporated several things in her colloge that mean something to her. She's 4. I took her birthday invitation and included it on the colloge and painted a little girl in pigtails all in pinks. She loves "Fancy Nancy" so that was the theme. It's little things like that, that I try to do to personalize my art. I do not do art for profit, just for pleasure and if it ministers to others, then it is worth it. I actually got started with my art by buying Kelly's book and just going with the directions in the book. So you could say I am self taught with the help of Kelly's book. I would love to take her course. Vicki Taylor

Here's a moment I noted recently. This scene of someone's porch really caught my attention. I imagine sitting in that rocker reading book after book. :)

i love that - "harvesting the dream". for me my photos are everything. i can look at the simplest of images and a flood of memories can come back in an instant. of course there are many that do this for me. i put together a collection from 2009 that conjure up pleasant memories for me.

I have been harvesting pieces of my creative heart all my life, not knowing how to expose or promote them. Dear Kelly Rae, I am looking forward to the flying lessons and the knowledge you are about to share of your own successful artistic and creative business journey. I can't wait to start the course and winning a spot would just make it more incredible.

Im only 28 and the days are now just seeming to slip by!! not enough time it seems for all the things on my wish list for the days. although I do make the time too day dream and create. I recently came across Kelly Rae when I opened and early birthday gift from my friend. It was a 8 x 8 canvas of "Unbroken Wings" and a magnet of "believe in possibility" I seriously freaked!!! I love her talent and there is some sort of energy that is constantly being released when I view her work. I would love love love to be apart of flying lessons! Pick me Pick me

I recently have been photographing my grandmother and her home that has been burnt down since 2001. It still stands and everything that was in the fire still remains. It is very interesting to document this and I found a photo album with early 1900 postcards in it address to my ancestors. This is so unique and love it. until next time i will continue to harvest. Thanks

That is one of the main reasons I paint….to leave a beautiful mark on the world long after I am gone (and because I just can’t not paint!). Thanks for hosting this giveaway. If I were lucky enough to be the winner I am sure Kelly’s course would help me share those beautiful marks with more people.

I share the harvest of my dreams, both paintings and photographs over at
