introducing the capture collection by Bel Kai Designs

-Manzanita, Oregon

There are some image we capture, a stolen moment in time when the image itself moves far beyond a mere photograph. Whether it be of a person or a place, these shots are etched in our minds and in our hearts in a way that transcends anything we can put into words.

This is exactly how I feel when I am surrounded by the sea, the sand and the sky. And it's how I feel when I see images taken there. It's like pure magic. I can think of no better way to announce a recent creative collaboration with Bel Kai Designs: The Shutter Sisters Capture Collection

We will be rolling out our entire collection over the next few months (featuring some beautiful images from some talented ladies) but we're kicking it off today with the Sea Sand Sky necklace. Did I mention I was excited? The three images I chose for this necklace mean so much to me and each holds a little piece of my heart. I am delighted to be able to share them in this way.

What makes it that much better is that in the spirit of Giveaway May we're giving away a Sea Sand Sky necklace here. I'm so so happy about this!

Leave a comment here between now and Sunday at midnight PST to be included in the random drawing and if you're so inclined, share an image that stirs your soul the way these stir mine.

Congratualtions to GoLightly, the winner of the necklace! YAY!

Lovely images, wonderful necklace!
I'm fortunate to live on the water, so I know firsthand that it's not always calming and sometimes even devastating. But the not-so-good points are FAR outweighed by the good ones, such as gorgeous sunsets like this one:

And fun sights like this one:

Here's a photo that I took recently that stirs my soul. It holds a deeper meaning for me. It's about love, loss, hopes and wishes.

rushing sea, endless sea ... speak to me! these are the first lines of a poem that bubbled to the surface and out of my mouth spontaneously the first time i got my first good look at the ocean 30 years ago. your simple, yet powerful images remind me of that moment. and remind me that it's been too long (a whole month!) since i've been back to that magical place where the sea, sand and sky collide.

loved seeing everyone's pictures. i always wished i lived by the ocean...

What a beautiful feeling these images create! When I am walking along the seaside, feeling the sand between my toes and the water around my ankles, time stops for me. The sea always gives me silence within myself. The sea, the sound of the waves and seagulls brings me back to my true self. I could not live without the sea, because it gives me so much love. Taking that feeling of wholeness with you where ever you go captured within a beautiful necklace is comforting. I love it.

As someone who grew up on the praries when I saw my first ocean | knew I had come home. I'm now back in my old land-locked home town and I miss the sea, sand and sky every day. The jewlery is beautiful and would be a reminder of what I am missing.... Here's a "cliche" of a holiday photo from Cuba.

This is beautiful. Exactly where my heart is today.
My mind has been on the ocean for the last 48 hours as I absorb so much bad/sad news, because looking out at the water gives me peace and anchors me.

along this line is one of my favorite images from this year. In the midst of the latest news this boy fills me with unyielding joy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/16869615@N03/4294226147/in/set-72157608391030870/
