introducing the capture collection by Bel Kai Designs

-Manzanita, Oregon

There are some image we capture, a stolen moment in time when the image itself moves far beyond a mere photograph. Whether it be of a person or a place, these shots are etched in our minds and in our hearts in a way that transcends anything we can put into words.

This is exactly how I feel when I am surrounded by the sea, the sand and the sky. And it's how I feel when I see images taken there. It's like pure magic. I can think of no better way to announce a recent creative collaboration with Bel Kai Designs: The Shutter Sisters Capture Collection

We will be rolling out our entire collection over the next few months (featuring some beautiful images from some talented ladies) but we're kicking it off today with the Sea Sand Sky necklace. Did I mention I was excited? The three images I chose for this necklace mean so much to me and each holds a little piece of my heart. I am delighted to be able to share them in this way.

What makes it that much better is that in the spirit of Giveaway May we're giving away a Sea Sand Sky necklace here. I'm so so happy about this!

Leave a comment here between now and Sunday at midnight PST to be included in the random drawing and if you're so inclined, share an image that stirs your soul the way these stir mine.

Congratualtions to GoLightly, the winner of the necklace! YAY!

Ooooooo SO pretty! I LOVE the beach so I'll be checking these out. I feel a "just-for-me-because-I-deserve-it" present coming!

That's truly a lovely necklace. I know of few places more soul stirring for me than anywhere by the ocean. This is an image I shot with my Diana in Whitby on the coast of England, one afternoon when the fog was thick on the ground and the fog horns and the barely visible light houses and the sound of the breakers on the shore were more or less the only things to tell you that the vast ocean was present just on the other side of the fence - an experience I'll never forget: http://www.flickr.com/photos/85057042@N00/4149105851/in/set-72157621822725790/

I too love the ocean. I live in Chicago so it is a treat when I get to spend some time by the ocean. I sometime hope to live closer to one of the coasts. Beautiful necklace.

that photo of the ocean is beyond gorgeous -- it evokes something magical and peaceful and otherworldly that really speaks to me. an expanse of sea and sky is all i need to exist in life, really. or sky and tree, maybe:

the jewelry is also beyond gorgeous, with the same delicious colors as your photo and mine!

That necklace is so gorgeous!! What a gift to live close to the ocean. I feel the draw when I see photos like this and want to be close to the ocean myself. There is just something about the ocean being so much bigger then we are that puts things in perspective. That you for sharing this and the fantastic give-away!

I tend to look to the sky for the same feelings the ocean gives you... http://awebert.wordpress.com/2010/05/09/for-shutter-sisters-3/

I live in a land-locked place and the ocean is a special place for me. I only get to visit it occasionally and always love it when I'm there. I love the Rocky Mountains almost as much! And that necklace is gorgeous - thanks for sharing it!

May 9, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSusan
I am a land locked prairie dweller, but when I see the sea, it takes over me with anticipation. I get quite sea sick, so I'd rather just look. from the shore with two bare feet in the sand.

and.. beautiful necklace
