a girl's best friend

There's something special about the bond between friends. Whether it's between people or animals, a rare friendship is something to remember. I felt privileged to witness this moment between a girl and her horse recently. The love between them is obvious and there is a mutual respect that we can all learn from.

If you have a photo that reflects the closeness of a unique friendship like this, please share them with us today.

What a wonderful picture of this girl and her best friend. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Such a sweet shot - great to see such mutual love between two so very different creatures.

Our 17 1/2-year-old fur baby passed away in December. It would have been easy to not seek out another four-legged companion... the summer would have been so peaceful! But, for the sake of 10 and 7-year-old boys (I tell myself), we rescued another pup. The stereotype of boy and his dog is so fitting for my oldest son, the bond is already so strong.

very sweet.

i had the privilege of photographing my best friend's wedding day for part of it {while i was not performing bridesmaid duties}, and i was especially intent on capturing some shots of her with her two sisters, because i really love the sister bond they have... which to me, is more like a friendship bond. it's something i really admire in them all. they are all very close, and such a joy to witness.

this was one of my favorite shots of the three of them from that day:

This is my daughter and her best friend Sidney, who was our puppy. This was actually taken a few years ago so excuse the editing.

I love this photo so much. I have a great black & white of a girl and her horse but I won't have time to pull it out of my archives and post it. So instead, here's one from a year or two ago with a young boy and a horse:

Thank you.

Love the photo! We have had 2 GSD and currently have a Black Lab and Rat Terrier mix. We are always helping out our friends by dog sitting their dogs while they are away. My daughter took this picture of herself and Picard. Picard was a retired Guide Dog and spent his retirement years with our friends. We spent a lot of time with Picard and we had a special relationship with him. Picard is now running in heaven with our dog GSD Rika.

I love these shots...so expressive!

We brought our puppy home in February and she and my husband have developed a very strong bond...here's a shot from her first trip to the beach, finding comfort with what's familiar.
