order

It happens every year at this time; the overwhelming feeling that the chaos of summer "fun" has gone on long enough. I'm not one to wish away my life, but in this case, I am really really ready to get a little order back in my life.

We've all heard of spring cleaning but what about fall?

I get the same sense of urgency this time of year to get things sorted out and straightened up. To get back into the swing of a set schedule. To sweep out the sand, put away the sunscreen and rediscover my sanity through some well-needed structure.

Are you feeling it? Are you looking for a little order in your life? Show us how you get your ducks, er apples in a row this time of year.

I too feel the need to get order in my life in the fall. Ready to hunker down & semi-hibernate during the winter. I tend to go out less and like my cupboards stocked so I can concentrate on soul searching during the fall & winter months.

Love this post. I'm in the midst of a purging and organizing project, trying to create a more serene environment for myself. I am so looking forward to more order and structure as we move into fall.

I'm actually pretty obsessed with being organized so it's not just a season thing with me but I do get super busy {especially in the cooler months} so I have to keep track of a bunch of things! I keep an iPhone calendar, notes, regular Calendar, all sorts of things. Way too much to remember *laughs*

Yep, I like to get things in order in the fall. This year it's even more urgent because we just moved about two months ago, so I keep catching myself resting on my laurels and thinking everything's put away the way it should be, and then BAM! I'll find an area that needs a total rehaul. It's fun though. :)

Is that why I spent the whole weekend cleaning?! I hate to clean. It was the weirdest thing... :)

Perfect timing on this post! I was just thinking today about how much more scheduled our life is going to be in two short weeks and I CANNOT wait!

I have just finished straightening my sewing room in anticipation of having some time to actually spend a few hours in there when my boy returns to school.

As much as I love him and the time that we have together. There is something to that old saying "Distance make the heart grow fonder."

A schedule will be a welcome addition to our days.

PS, love this photo Tracey. Apples are such a welcome sign of fall.

I'm not done with summer yet. It's been a hoot. But I do know what you mean about wanting order in your life. I seek it everyday, if only in small things, like keeping the kitchen sink and table clean. Keeping anything clean is an uphill battle living with 2 preschoolers. Sometimes I feel I just have to get used to not having my ducks in a row until they've grown. Speaking of ducks ...

i write lists when i feel i need some self motivation. Now i'm not great at lists - even writing a list is hard for someone like me, whose head is bursting with ideas and things to do but when it's all seeming a little overwhelming a list is inevitably written somewhere - on my iphone notes, in my work diary, on a scrap of paper. Perhaps things are not crossed off these lists quickly ... or even at all - but they are written down & that little bit of time for mindfulness is satisfaction in itself.

On my list this last couple of weeks - catching up on scanning my polaroids from the last months - and it is happening ...

slowly but surely
