stacking up

My One Little Word this year is rhythm. I knew when I chose it, I was going to have to dig pretty deep in the creative well to find ways to visually translate a word like rhythm. Much to my surprise, I see more rhythm, rhyme and repetition than I have ever seen before!

So far, my word is shaping up, or better, stacking up quite nicely for me.

Are you seeing your word appear right before your eyes? We'd love to hear (and see) all about it.

Inspired by February's lesson in Ali Edward's One Little Word Workshop.

My word is 'grow' - in new ways..and new directions. And - here it is - reflecting back at me:

My "word" this year is actually a poem:

But yes, I am seeing the concept and philosophy carried in this show up in my life in so many ways!

It's interesting to see and hear the same for you with your word this year. Rhythm is such a beautiful concept in visual art.

I love how that image speaks of the rhythm of everyday life. My word is 'light', and I'm finding it even in the most colourless situations:

I am actually using this photo in my photo page for this months assignment on Ali's One Little Word Course. My word for this year is OPEN and this photo of the balloon flying through the open air and the open flame you can see in the middle of the balloon inspired me.

My word is simplicity. Its been really difficult but I have made strides toward it. I have closed my art gallery and begun giving away some of the supplies each month on my blog.

I haven't bought a single magazine since the year began. Thank goodness for websites like Shutter Sisters, which are like having a magazine without the clutter! We have also put our country grocery store on the market, another step to simplicity.

The cold weather has made me want to stay in and today I think I will go through more drawers and closets.

My word is "reflect" and it's been popping up everywhere.

Here's a shot I snapped with my iPhone while walking the dog yesterday.

My word is "savor". From a growing passion for cooking and photography, I am trying to create moments with my family that help us to hold on to our lives - to savor it. This link is to one of my posts where I relished and savored so many wonderful moments with my cousin's new baby.

Oh dear!! I'm glad I double-checked. I gave the WRONG link to the post above. Here is the correct article from one the posts on my blog. So sorry. I am so new at this and want to join in on all of the fun!

My word is wild, for I've found in the last year that it's the most beautiful place to be, infinitely.
My recent captures of it:
