tickled pink

Gosh, there are definitely lots of pinks & reds around at the moment as Valentine’s day descends upon us.

Do different months of the year represent different colours to you? I feel February is definitely powder pinks & ravishing reds, obviously to do with the romantic day just around the corner, and perhaps the vibrant reds found during Chinese New Year.

Why don’t we forget the obligatory hearts for a moment and seek out less obvious pink & reds around us - a swish of a skirt, twinkling lanterns, a message or a cosy jacket. How about pretty flowers, window boxes and even lockers?.

Let's have fun this Friday and show me something in February’s colour palette that tickles your fancy.

Thanks so much for including a link to my locker photo! :) A wonderful surprise this morning.

I often delight in the little details that I find in the back alleys of Italian towns. This one, in pink:!

The umbrella shot is beautiful! Love the pop of pink and love colorful decorations in the background.

Here's a favorite pink shot of mine:

A rose from the bush that belonged to my great grandmother. I never met her, but I love her affection for beautiful things.

We've had days and days of endless, dreary rain. And this is The Sunshine State!
Time to break out the color!

Beautiful shot!

And it's so funny you bring this up. Im doing a 365 Day Project, and for the month of February, I'm only taking pictures of 'red'. I wanted to sway away from all the hearts and predictable lovey dovey stuff, but did feel compelled to highlight the color red, just because it is a color I associate with the month.

Purely coincidental, my blog post today is titled "Pink" mainly because I am a little tired of grays.

I love red (& pink). I took this shot about a year ago as my daughter was literally heading out the door to school. Sadly, she has since lost the hat.

My daughter loves pink so it was no surprise she chose it for her face painting.

The colors in the shot posted today are wonderful. I love the contrast of the yellows and the pink in the photo. I tried a twist to share today by applying a pink hue to a landscape image. I was going for a 1960's type look for fun.

lovely capture and great idea. I don't live in the city so never see any colour. Right now out here in the wilderness all there is, is snow, trees, sky, and dogs. And inside is just way too boring for me to share :) I look forward to seeing what all the lucky people who live in the city share!

Oh, thank you! The heart and pinks lose their shine for me by the time the holiday rolls around. Strings of red paper lanterns, on the other hand, those I'll never tire of. I adore the image in your post!
