I spy

I don't want him to smile. Not like that. Not like HA HA CAMERA LOOK AT MY FUNNY FACE or OH ALRIGHT MOMMY BUT YOU OWE ME ANOTHER TOONIE. I want to catch him absorbed in something other than the act of having his picture taken, and so I skulk. My shutter tiptoes, hunting immersion. I want nothing else other than the moment of processing: taste. The love child of pink and red. Maraschino!
Today, show me photographer-as-skulk-artist. Show me what you peeked at.

This picture is one of my favorites for I felt like I was being allowed to witness something private and beautiful.

My husband is away for the winter working in Toronto while I man the home front. He has a third floor apartment and I go in on the weekends to see him. The squirrels race around the roof and I caught this guy skulking and peeking at me.

I was babysitting for my little grandson last week - he's just starting to walk and explore - and he became interested in the shadows on the wall.

when he heard the shutter click on the first image, he got super cheesy. while it's very cute, I really loved his natural facial expressions more!

my oldest insists on making a gopher face whenever I point the camera at him -- he'll be 8 soon. needless to say, I don't have many shots of him. but my little ones have gotten used to the shutter click with my 365, so they are easier to skulk around. here's one from quiet time the other day

This one cost 2 mid afternoon cookies: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dontforgetthehorse/5411251089/ but the freckles are worth it.
This one I had to lie. He offered me a picture of his super awesome magnet man instead. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dontforgetthehorse/5449891724/in/photostream/
