water world

Last week the summer heat made a very big appearance here on the east coast.  Seemed almost everyone was sweltering in above normal temperatures with little relief in sight. Perfect time to seek out ways to cool off and have fun all at the same time.  Summer and water just go hand in hand don't you agree?  Water parks, kiddie pools, sea spray, wave jumping, rain dances, puddles, water balloons, fountain fun, sprinklers, and the trusty old garden hose. Splashing and spraying our way through the summer heat. Shooting water is all kinds of fun.  If the sun is shining the drops sparkle light diamonds, or you may capture the action of individual droplets.

What water fun have you captured lately?

Let's all take a collective dip into the cool water today.  Share your summertime water shots with us here.  Maybe get out the sprinkler and jump through the spray... Have fun with it!

This summer I got to venture to Islands of Adventure for the first time in 8 years.

It was a ton of fun and we really LOVED the water rides that left us sopping wet!

Here's a link to some of the images I've posted: http://www.wayfaringwanderer.com/2011/07/my-favorite-islands-of-adventure-theme.html

Shot taken in the Spring, one of the first warm days. Nothing like teenagers and a water hose to make you laugh.

Even though we've had unseasonably mild temperatures on the West Coast, we still can't resist the urge to play in the water:

What a fantastic 'cooling' image. Love the light..the action captured!! And - yes - it was unbelievably hot...even up in Bar Harbor:

awww... these posts are so inspiring !
i read todays text and started thinking....did i have any fun with water lately, and did i capture any of it...?
not really, not recently
i looked up and saw big fat raindrops hitting the window.....
all of today had been warm, humid, a bit suffocating, even the dogs were uninspired
and then it suddenly started pouring
so i went out in the garden and took some shots
pretty soon my iPhone got a bit too wet, so i went inside again, looking out the window longingly
then i suddenly thought of my umbrella..... i grabbed it and went outside in the downpour
i was alone, around me everyone was running for shelter and there i was, happily jumping around with my iPhone, protected from the rain (not completely as i found out later....) taking shots and singing!
haven' t had this much fun in ages! thanks Kristin!

I'm on the west coast (where we don't have fire flies :( are you seeing those at night lately? I would love to see a few fireflies if anyone has those to share?

We live in an apartment without a balcony, just a tiny deck with no room for even the smallest wading pool. We were very lucky to be able to escape to a friends house during the worst of the heat to use their pool and also for my 3 year old to be able to play in the sprinklers!

I had the best session with friends a couple weeks ago and the kids had just discovered water balloons. And since it's been over 100 for at least 27 days in a row here, it was extra awesome. =)

A few weeks ago I introduced my two-year-old to the joys of wading in the creek. First he wasn't sure - then I couldn't get him out!

My son's dog just loves to stick his head under the water wand when I water my plants. There's no way he's that thirsty. I think he does it just because its fun. http://www.flickr.com/photos/leanne8790/5986062270/

This water picture I love because it captured the unexpected. Mom & boys playing in the sand for some pictures-tide came in a bit too fast-I love how the boys are just watching their boats with little-no expression.

Nothing like being able to play in the ocean-fully clothed

This last one I also enjoyed because of the boys expressions-absolutely terrified the wave will catch up with them.

I just shared this photo in Friday's post, but I just noticed this post and I just had to share it again right here. My daughter discovered the joys of playing in the big pool with her daddy. I'm not sure who had more fun:

After a lot of information thanks. My wife calls me to dinner, so I asked operation, without reading like I want. But I have your blog to my RSS feed to make sure I can learn more.
