Superhero Photo Challenge: Twilight

I saw the movie Twilight a few weeks ago, the weekend it premiered, with a sold out crowd of teens and tweens. My husband and I giggled (and felt wonderfully old) as throngs of girls screamed each time the hunky vampire Edward showed up on the screen. It was so much fun.

Ever since, I have been thinking about twilight in general and what a magical time of day it is. The colors in the sky are often so brilliant in contrast to the grey sheen over the rest of the world. This week's challenge is to capture life at twilight. What does your world look like during this little sliver of time?

For the giveaway today, I'd like to offer up something from my company Superhero Designs. The newest item at Superhero is a starburst pendant. It's not your typical star, but a bit more organic and sea creature like; something that evokes a burst of energy or joy. It also has the word "joy" engraved on the back. I am excited for one of you shutter sisters to have it. Just comment on this post and you'll be entered in the drawing!

Congratualtions to Mod Mom of Modobjectathome for winning your very own Joy Jersey!

this is from last july, but i was just walking around a lovely neighborhood, looking at one of my favorite things: lighted windows against the dusk. the photos turned out "too dark", but i love them.

Well Andrea, I have followed you to Shutter Sisters and find myself excited by the challenges and the company. When I was in my early 20s I had two girlfriends who used to go on photo crawls with me -- this is the next best thing. While I have to admit not being terribly optimistic -- I have never won anything -- I would be thrilled to wear your joy starburst necklace. Thank you for offering it as a gift.

i love twilight, it comes so early here now that i watch its beauty reflected in the buildings around me as i sit in my office looking out at the sky ... my husband and i also went and giggled at the giggling girls and it was fun even if it made us feel a wee bit old as well.

I also enjoyed Twilight at midnight with all of the teens and tweens...one of which was my daughter.
It also made me feel wonderfully old, and yet wonderfully young at the same time. It is great to feel and act like a teenager sometimes!

I have a strange tendency of taking lots and lots of photos of clouds, but mostly during the sunny daytime. However, twilight is the time that I enjoy the most, the clouds all pink and orange. But for some reason, I always forget to pull out my camera and shoot; perhaps I am too enthralled with the beauty.

I have not seen the Twilight film, but I have read the first Twilight series book. It was a nice quick and easy read and I read it just for fun! I kind of want to see the film, but I have no one to go with. I guess I will just have to sneak away sometime and see it by myself!

Oh, count me in for the drawing. The necklace is so cute :o)

Andrea,
Love the photo! You are uber-talented. I love the joy necklace so much. What touched me most about the design was the engraving in the back "joy". Like having the power to give you joy on the inside and showing the world the beauty of that joy inside you with the starburst or all the world to see on the outside. Please count me in on the giveaway! I've been watching Ben grow on your site - talk about time-lapsed photography on super fast forward. Can't believe he's going to be 2. Bless you and your beautiful family during this holiday season!
Peace,
Karen

Here's another twilight post from my trip to cancun. it may not look as though it was dark out, but the sun had set 40 minutes before I took the shot, intentionally impressionistic and hand held.

Love this necklace! A couple years ago, my husband searched high and low for a star necklace, but couldn't find anything but a snowflake. Guess if I don't win this, I'll have to point him in the direction!
