What's Inside

060408_600.jpg

Well my fellow photographer extraordinares...you asked for it, you got it. The Sisters and I have recorded all the photo equipment we use into one massive list. It's chock full of links and everything!  The What's in the Bag list is here to stay (see the new Equipment List option in the left sidebar) so don't fret that you have to memorize it. Peruse at will and click around to see what's in our bags and get detailed descriptions via the unprecedented retail resource site that many of us know and love B&H Photo.  If there's a glitch here or there, do let us know...things might not be totally dialed in quite yet.

I plan on pooling up some of the favorites from all of you (the ones you so kindly listed in the comments the other day) and listing those as well. I'm pretty sure we'll soon be adding something like a wish list too. What the heck, right? We can dream big if we want to. I know I am currently looking to upgrade my cute little Rebel soon so hopefully I'll be adding something like this little number to my list-fingers crossed.

How about you? Have you got your sights on a little something special of the photo kind?

Ooo, thanks for the equipment list! Although it's the photographer behind the camera who makes the images happen, the gear can sure help! With that note, I'm looking forward to owning a full frame camera one day.... one day!

Nikon D3. Oh, and a macro lens!

I'm looking forward to a 400-600 mmm lens. Dreamin' big!!!! And I agree with Laura. It's not the equipment that makes the photographer..it's the photographer him/herself.

Nice depth of field in these tulips. Here's one of mine:

I unfortunately am still stuck with just my Rebel and the kit lens. I have been dying to get a nifty fifty for close to a year!

I would love to get a macro lens, and maybe some Photoshop classes!

Love your chive blossom -- it's all about promise, isn't it?

Guess what?! My hubby just ordered a Nikon D60 yesterday! I can't wait for it to arrive. I know it's not as well recommended as the Canon Xsi, but price was an issue, and I loved how it felt in my hands. I know I'm gonna love it. Definitely a huge step up from my point and shoot.

You, you will LOVE to 40D! I am SO glad I upgraded.

I ordered the 70-200mm f/2.8 yesterday. I CAN HARDLY CONTAIN MY GLEE!

Sorry for shouting. I get a little excited about these things :)

this is my favorite kind of post - i love looking inside a bag, especially filled with such fanastic goodies as these!

right now, i am craving a nikon 85mm f/1.4. so many other things on the list in front of it, though.

i also want CS3 (i have CS, but it's from my job, so i'll have to buy the complete version of CS3 on my own...) and lightroom.

but the lens. i want it. i want it. i want it.

Actually, I'm waiting for Boutwell Studios to release the next version of Totally Rad Actions. TRA2 is supposed to be amazing.

I ordered my Nikon D40 yesterday! Getting 18-55 and 55-200 VR lenses. Plus I ordered a Lensbaby G3. I decided to go ahead and order it (since this was all part of a gift) so I would have it when I am ready to learn. So exciting!

Wish list: telephoto lense, flash for my 1970's Minolta, an old school poleroid. ;) I like oldies, but goodies!

I'm hoping for a DSLR for my upcoming birthday. Canon Rebel XTi will probably be the winner, though the newer XSi would be nice...

a 40D....and a macro lens. big time! also, a new iMac with the upgraaded Adobe Creative Suite....hey a girl can dream, right? :)
June 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAshley
Like Ashley, I'd like a new 'puter with a bit more elbow room, a 40D, 580EX, 24-70mm, 10-22mm, 100mm macro, and the one that's more in reach right now, Aperture 2.
June 4, 2008 | Unregistered Commenternikkipolani
I DEFINITELY want a nifty fifty and a wide angle....i'm starting photog class next week so super pumped for that!

@alli: I'd take a picture of my bag but diaper bags don't make for pretty pictures. Haha. Great idea! I'd love to see everyone's bags! I need to get me a serious camera bag too!

nikon 85mm f/1.4: I covet this in a major way.

I'd also like a Nikon D300 but, yeah, that's not going to happen anytime soon! LOL!

Oh, I dream so big I'm not certain the comment section would hold my list

Tracey, thanks to each of the Sisters for compiling their list.

May I ask what makes the 40D your upgrade of choice? Rather than say the EOS 1D III or 5D? Just curious. I want to upgrade within 6 months...when the cash falls into my lap. :)

You're a gem.

I would love a good wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. My longest is 135mm and that ain't long enough!!

I just got a macro lens, so I've been having fun playing with that!

Thank you, thank you for the gear lists! I also second (third? more?) an interest in seeing everyone's bags -- I haven't found one that carries all of my photo and personal stuff properly yet.

I recently indulged my long-time desire for a macro lens and I'm completely in love with it. Now I'm searching for a faster replacement for my kit lens.

Thanks for sharing this info--people do not have nearly the amount of gear I expected which I think is amazing and inspires me to get more out of the equipment I have!

Wow--this is a beautiful photo. The colors are so soft & lovely.

i really REALLY want to upgrade from my D200 to the D300 (or D3 if i'm dreaming big) but its just not possible at the moment. But since my birthday is right around the corner (hello, 41) I started with one thing in my shopping cart that grew to like 15 things. All of which have shipped and are on their sweet little way to me. Macro filters, ExpoDisc, step-up rings, gradient ND filter, 22" colapsible reflector, vertical grip (the original item!)...i think that's it. happy birthday to me. thanks for compiling the massive list! love peeking into other bags,

This is great! My biggest wish right now is a wider angle prime lens. I *heart* my 50mm, but that's just too close for indoors sometimes. Any reccomendations for the Nikon camp?
