Love Thursday Featured Fotographer: Nicky Thomas

As I was going through the Shutter Sisters Flickr pool, I couldn't help but notice the stunning shot you see above by Nicky Thomas.  But what sealed the deal for me were her comments:

This is a weeny pebble given to me by daughter Nr 1 for mother's day. I love it.

It sits in my pocket and my fingers find it without thought. I trace its contours with my fingertips and it soothes me.

Although i love its warmth and smoothness, i also love the tiny imperfection on one side. I am drawn to it.

Sometimes it takes a tiny flaw to make you realise how perfect the rest of love can be.

My Love Thursday photo happened on a perfect summer afternoon. We were on vacation at the ocean and my husband, my kids, and myself were lazing around on the dock - some of us fishing, some getting ready to ride the boat. I looked out over the harbour, and saw something red floating past. As it got closer, I realized it was a heart-shaped balloon.

My daughter called me over
to a sunny patch in the backyard.
This sunlight heart had filtered through the oak tree

My dear Uncle Bobby has always run the family farm with his two sisters. He loves that farm, and he loves those animals. I visited this summer and took this picture of him and his dog.
