can you Picture Summer?

I'm not the kind of mom who counts the days of the school year down until summer. No way. And I'll be the first to admit that I enjoy my time far too much. But, this year there are two little words that are getting me more excited than usual for the coming season: Picture Summer!

For those of you who joined us for Picture Spring, I do hope you come along for our Summer saunter too. The prompts all all new with a twist on the season! For those of you who didn't participate but are determined to join the splashy summer inspiration, then pop over to the Picture Summer registration page and sign up for 30 days of photo fun. The more the merrier!

In celebration of Giveaway May and the fact that I am bursting at the seams about Picture Summer, we'll be giving away 3 free registrations. Just leave a comment between now and Sunday at midnight to be entered in the random drawing. And while you're here help us all get into the spirit of summer by sharing something splashy!

The winners of the Picture Summer registrations go to Lucy, Vanessa, Mama DB. Congrats ladies!!

Ooh exciting! I can't wait for summer- it'll be the first one that my son is really old enough to enjoy, so we are hoping for long sunny days spent on the Meadows, where there is always something fun going on.

I hope I win one of the three free registrations!!

Summer is my all-time #1 favorite season!! Always has been, always will be...they can't make a hot summer day hot enough for me. :)

Summer to me
is scraped and rescraped knees,
is hold-nose, swimmies tight, cousin pool love,
and it is pushing down the soft line of black tar that's been sun-bathing all July afternoon.

I joined in on Picture Spring and just know Picture Summer will be just as inspirational. I'd love to win so I can join along in all the fun!
Being a teacher, summer is a time of renewal of my spirit and of course my class curriculum.

This was taken at the seaside, last summer. I have been looking at it so many times since then to remind me of the happiness of summers:

Summer is my favorite season to picture. Well, except for fall. And spring. And winter. Aw, I love all the seasons equally. Still - I'm so excited for it to finally be warm!
Here's a truly splashy shot from our weekend getaway. Looking forward to summer and being by the pool and participating in Picture Summer with a few of my friends. http://www.flickr.com/photos/40070449@N08/4594148580/

May 14, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCourtney
Oh, that camera is a beauty - the visual pun of the two flashes is so much fun!
My 365 has helped me to see the beauty in winter, definitely not my season, but I'm a summer baby through and through. I'm really looking forward to capturing summer's fun with my camera!

I love all the shots with the Brownie. I love antique cameras and my husband came home with a boxful that he got for me at a garage sale! I had a great time with Picture Spring and would love to give Picture Summer a go as well.

I really love this photo -- the bold patterns of her dress, the warm flood of light on the left and the way it makes the camera in her hand glow. Gorgeous!

Love summer.
I think my 365 needs a little Picture Summer in it.

I adore summer's slow relaxing pace. Here in SW Colorado mountains the trees are beginning to blossom and the frost comes int he night. I love letting my kids sleep in, stay up late, sleep in the tent, swim at the river and travel everywhere by bicycle. Yeah summer!
May 14, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterBridge
I've just taken a nice wander through the gallery of Picture Spring photos and really enjoyed seeing all the unique styles and visions. It's a wonderful idea for a photo project.
