simplicity

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." ~ Leonardo di Vinci

Today, lets seek simple lines, shapes and minimal colors in our lenses.

Let simplicity speak.

Share with us what you find.

I love this concept. Mine is a simple image, but it speaks so much of a place. It's amazing sometimes how little you need, to convey a lot!

i thought this was a pretty simple shot and maybe it seemed so at the time, but maybe it isn't when you get all the crazy bokeh going on...simple in subject, though!

i always love an expertly done simple composition; it can really result in photography at its finest. i was trying here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/cararosephotos/5714165077/in/photostream

great prompt. we often find ourselves so far from simple, when really its the easiest and sometimes results in the most profound stuff.

Great job with these eggs. Such a soothing photo. I took a walk around my house to see what I could find (it's very rainy here today). Thank you for the inspiration.

I often need to remind myself to return to simple, especially when I start looking for 'busy-ness' and thinking that adds interest. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Thanks for this post and beautiful photograph of the eggs.

but I'm learning to love the rain...in all its simplicity but powerful purpose...

Sometimes, you capture the simplest lines by attempting to eliminate distractions. That's what I had to do at Trail Days this past weekend. It made for some interesting shots!

I just realized I don't have a lot of these images. I am kind of on the opposite side of the spectrum what with the lively colors and the stuff. So much stuff. But here are a few that I think fit the bill:

Drops of water seem to be popular for simple subjects, perhaps because they make us take a close-up look at one tiny subject:

Oooh ooh ooh! Ultimate in sophistication? That's not usually how I see myself, but as it happens today's 365 photo falls into the simplicity category. Love it when that happens:

love those perfectly simple eggs up there...here are my simple seeds, on their way up, http://www.flickr.com/photos/soupatraveler/5735158867/
I was just complimenting another photographer on a "simple" image - I love things like this. My favorite image is probably one of jacks: http://www.kimberlygauthier.com/photography/a-photography-necessity-foam-board/5308/

I have some pics in the camera that need to be released to the cyberworld - one is a lovely image of my dogs toy. Stay tuned :)
simple but effective capture

And this one....because, with my kids, I need to let go of control and offer up more options.
