When we boarded The Inspiration (kinda ironic huh?) on Thursday afternoon, I had no idea what was in store for me. I expected to see good friends, hear amazing music and eat until I couldn’t breathe. I did all of those things and then some. What I didn’t expect was the ...

My favorite vacation was last year in Colorado. It was a working vacation through the day but in the evening we explored the friendly little town where we stayed. We joined locals in their coffee shop and attended softball games in the evening. We were on the foot heal of Estes Park and could drive there easily . Remarkable.

It would have to be my honeymoon. We drove to the west coast of Vancouver Island and camped on the beach in Tofino. It was amazing and we truly enjoyed every minute of it.

Favorite vacation is The Outer Banks of North Carolina. Got married there ten years ago this year...and heading there to celebrate the occasion in October. It would be pretty awesome to have an Epiphanie to carry my camera. :)

I spent two months backpacking all by myself (with my trusty camera of course) around parts of Europe before having to come back and start "adult" life. It was an amazing way to live carefree before having to worry about bills and jobs...

My favorite vacation was when we took our girls back to Cannon Beach, OR where my husband and I met. We had fun showing them the school we attended there, exploring Haystack Rock and Ecola State Park, flying kites and driving down the cost. We all have fond memories of that vacation.

I think my favourite so far was when we stayed in a friend's shack at wallaroo & drove down the coast

My absolute favorite would have to be our honeymoon to France and Italy. Since I don't have a post for that (it was almost 10 years ago), I'll share my second favorite: a trip to Charleston we took last fall. I was 7 months pregnant, and it was a very special time. http://www.theshadyacre.com/index.php/2010/11/05/nine-year-anniversary-and-a-charleston-vacation/

i can't choose a favorite -- any time i can get away, whether it's to a gorgeous spot or just to a funky run-down town, i like to find the things that make it interesting. i just love to wander around new places and discover what makes it "home" to other people.

Anytime I've gone to Cape Cod with my husband and our daughter. We go every summer and it's always perfect. We just hang out, relax and do whatever we want.

Ningaloo Station in the north of Western Australia: pristine beaches, coral reef, limestone range, canyons, and the water just a few metres from our tent. Bliss!

My favorite vacation is anytime I get to be alone with my husband... be it overnight or for a week. There is no schedule, no kids to feed/bathe/bed down/etc.

my favorite trip recently was a week spent in england in oct 2010. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kabsconcepts/sets/72157625008170619/ it was wonderful to have a little time to myself sans the kids and then it was that much more wonderful to get big hugs when i got home.

We have started going every year to Grayton Beach, Florida for spring break. In the past, I have never thought of myself as a 'beach' person, but we have so much fun and my kids are so happy for the week we are there. I think I like it best because it is the one vacation that is just for our little family of four. . . summers are usually filled with visiting extended family since we do not live near relatives.

My favorite vacation would have to be the week I got to tag along with my husband on a "business" trip to Belize. Who can even think about work in paradise? Thankfully I was the one who got to do all the relaxing and photo taking (my favorite part)!

My favourite holiday destination is a little mountain village called Harrietville in Vic, Australia. It lies in a lush valley with a sparkling river flowing through it and 20mins up the mountain is spectacular alpine scenery.

Difficult to pick just one favourite but if pressed I'd have to say Italy. After living there for a number of years and travelling the country north-south, east-west, I didn't find a place that I would not like to return to! History, culture, food and wine...what's not to like!!

I would have to say my favorite vacation was many years ago, but I had an Epiphanie during the trip. My boyfriend, now husband and I had planned to take a week off to celebrate my birthday and just hang out. We didn't have a destination in mind just sort of get in the car and go - then at the last minute he let's his supervisors talk him into working a few extra days thus cutting our week short. I was not at all pleased but we finally got in the car and drove to Huron, Ohio which is only about an hour or so from our home, found a quaint hotel and enjoyed a wonderful long weekend. We took the ferry to Put-in-Bay rode bicycles, visited wineries and caves. Most importantly we enjoyed one another, so the best laid plans are not always the best - my Epiphanie!

It is quite possible that my favorite vacation is the last one I took. I love to travel and explore new places (or new parts of old familiars). If you're looking for locations, here's a list: I have a serious crush on Paris, consider Vienna almost a second home, am in awe of Turkey, and long to return to Sitka, AK. But a weekend spent knitting on the porch of a great B&B in Duluth was perhaps the most restful short trip getaway I've taken.

My favorite vacation is taking a balloon ride over Napa Valley on a clear brisk morning. You can see for miles away and the only thing you can hear is the wind blowing gently. I've taken some amazing colorful shots that trip. Ah, serenity now :)

Carmel by the Sea California.
Stunning landscapes, and beautiful weather. We got to stay in a beach house overlook the beach near Pebble Beach Golf course...took strolls along the ocean every night and strolled in the shopping district of Carmel. It was wonderful.
California is completely rugged paradise.....

Hawaii!! My husband and I spent 10 nights of blissful, photographic beauty in Oahu, Maui and Kauai. Unfortunately at the time I had an Olympus SLR 135mm film camera. Oh how I would love to go back now with my Canon!!

Hmmm. I could say a number of places, but really I love any place I can explore, meet new people and discover something about myself. The last place I was really able to do this was in Prague, which I would return to in a heartbeat.

Last fall, hubby and I took a vacation to Las Vegas - our first trip in 10 years. We met up with his brother and sister-in-law and had the best time imaginable. I'd venture that the old adage of it being all about the gambling is crumbling because that was what we did the least of.

My favorite vacation so far was my honeymoon trip to Jamaica. But this summer, to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary, my husband and I are going to New York. I've never been and it has been a dream of mine to go for as long as I can remember. So ask me this question again in a month and I'm sure my answer will be different! :)

My goal is to have one of every kind. Enter me!

My favorite vacation involves New Orleans. I love that city and long to live there, but vacationing there suffices for now!
My favorite vacation would have to be the last one. With 4 of our friends, we embarked on a cruise to the Virgin Islands where we sailed, snorkeled, zip-lined and sunned to our hearts content. It was the first time that I wasn't ready to go home after a vacation... I could have easily stayed for another week.

We're pretty simple. A few days in San Diego at the Paradise Point Resort is like escaping to another world for a short while. Taking a boat out on the bay, laying around on the beaches, and having a fancy drink while the kids play in the pool are our favorite activities. The kids have already been talking about when we will be going this summer.

Last year, I went to Jordan, Israel, and Palestine with a group of young adults from my church. We were there for two weeks, and it was incredible to take in the sights, sounds, smells, and flavors of the Middle East...not to mention experience the hospitality offered to us. My camera got such a work out, and whenever I see the photos, I feel like I'm transported back.

Now, how to get back there. :)

One summer on our usual beach trip I brought along plaster -- we made hand and foot print molds with sand on the beach -- mixed the plaster with ocean water and let them sit in the sun to harden. The hands decorate the wall in our breakfast room today. When we finished -- we still had a bit of plaster left over -- so I gave it to another mom on the beach with her toddler and showed her how to do the molds and mix.
