When we boarded The Inspiration (kinda ironic huh?) on Thursday afternoon, I had no idea what was in store for me. I expected to see good friends, hear amazing music and eat until I couldn’t breathe. I did all of those things and then some. What I didn’t expect was the ...

I think by the time I finally get a vacation, it doesn't matter where we are, because they're all so good! (I love the feeling of stress melting off of my body!!) Spending time in the northwoods of Wisconsin with my family is my consistent favorite because of the simplicity of it all. But I'm also partial to girlfriend trips to the Bahamas for all of the sun & socialization, too! :-)
My family really loved going to Big Bend in west Texas.

I was just telling a friend about my favorite vacation! The year I turned 26 I lived in London and went to drama school. My ex-boyfriend came over at the end of my year to do a summer program and then we traveled around the UK for 3 weeks. It was fantastic to have the pressure of our hideous failed relationship off but be able to travel as a team who worked well together. When we landed in Ireland we suddenly felt overwhelmed and sick of traveling and everything associated with it. So we found a place to stay and took a vacation from our vacation. No historical sights for us, no souvenir shopping, no trekking to one last wonder of the world. We went to the movie theatre for a matinee of Judge Dredd then went back to the dorm we were renting and made spaghetti and watched Hoffa on TV. It's one of my favorite, though not terribly classy, memories.

I have been so very fortunate to travel the world . I have to say my favorite vacation was when I lived in the UK. My husband had been away alot that year due to work commitments. My boys were very young at the time 3 yrs and 5 months. We rented a cottage in Dorset over the summer which was in a field full of cows which were giving birth on a daily basis. It was wonderful to see it all from the garden and to be so close. A wonderful experience for us all and one of the best vacations..

I love the beach. Walking, sitting, listening to the waves. Heaven.

i'll play. the best vacation i ever had was my 1.5 month cross country road trip from NJ to Tennesee to New Orleans, across Texas to NM, The Grand Canyon, Vegas, San Diego, San Fran (where I'm returning this very weekend since I loved it so much), Reno, The Million Dollar Highway in SW Colorado, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Kentucky...and many more spots! I think everyone should do this if they ever get the chance (between jobs for example) because its a rare opportunity!

This is a tough one. I'd probably have to say Toronto. It managed to turn into an adventure, with great food, cool architecture, beautiful nature, and fantastic company.

Thanks for offering this giveaway!

My favorite vacation is always the one I'm GOING to take! This year, it's Cape May New Jersey- a beautiful little Victorian community on the ocean. Can't wait!

My favorite vacation was probably our honeymoon in Maui. It was the perfect balance of relaxation time and active time. We did a lot of hiking, but also a lot of lounging on the beach. Plus, we were on cloud 9 since we were now officially newlyweds :) Oh, and let's not forget about the loads of pineapple we ate while there...! Ahh, now I want to be on the beach!

A couple of years ago we took our kids to the Oregon coast. It was their first time seeing the ocean, and thankfully I was able to capture the moment in photos! Some of my all-time favorites. We stayed in a positively cottage-y rental house on the beach which was just what my soul needed. I dream of heading back there someday.

oh that's a hard one for me. it always seems like my favorite vacation was the last one - i've had so many nice vacations in the states and abroad but a recent trip shared with my now adult daughter in Niagara Falls - NY and Canada - was a favorite.

Favorite vacation has to be Little Gasparilla, Florida. You have to take a ferry to get to the island. There's no cars or stores, just 3 miles of beach. You put your luggage in a wheel barrow and role it to your condo for total bliss! As I lay in my hammock rocking back and forth listening to the water, I'm open to any and all epiphanies that come my way!

My husband and I visited Old Orchard Beach, Maine in the fall of 2003. It was after high season and we were staying at a cottage right on the beach. First of all I know the guy who owns the house so it was free! Second, we have always had an infatuation with New England and staying on the ocean was just a bonus as far as we were concerned. Lastly, I had just found out I was pregnant and we were the only two who knew. It remains my very favorite vacation!! EVER!

My favorite holiday has to have been our honeymoon in San Francisco. We had such a great time every year we talk about going back but I think we are actually afraid to in case it doesn't live up to our memories.

My favorite recent vacation was a trip to California. We live in NC and flew out to Palm Springs to visit family and then drove to San Diego to attend a wedding. The groom is my husbands best friend and the bride is my sister-in-laws sister. We fixed the two of up on a blind date and they fell madly in love. We traveled with my brother and sister-in-law and had such a great time. Visiting my family and hanging out with my sister-in-laws side of the family was so much fun!

Sri Lanka, last summer. It had been almost 6 years since I had been for the first time for a volunteering trip. This time my partner and I went back, brought along my sister, and shared with her all of our favourite places and people.

Favorite vacation to date was in October 2008 when we flew my hubby's father from Australia to the UK for an early 80th birthday celebration for him and his first trip "home" in over 25 years. This was the first time all 4 of his children had been in the same place at the same time. I was blessed to experience the joy of family with all of them.

My favorite vacation ever was a few days on the coast of San Francisco. We took our kids to this amazing becah with tide-pools. We spent hours looking at sea life. My kids still talk about it to this day. Best part? It was free!

I know I should say one of our exotic locales... but my favorite vacations are always visiting with friends... so Chicago and New York top the list for me! (Not to mention, they're pretty fun places to be!)

My favorite vacation BY FAR has been 6 glorious days in Paris with my husband. It was the Spring of 2007 and we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. It was the honeymoon we never had and it could not have been more perfect if we tried. Just thinking about it makes me incredibly happy. We really had the time of our lives and it's probably what I'll be thinking about on my death bed when I am old and wrinkly.

I did a wee photo collage about it. See it here:

By far, my favorite destination is the beach. It is my one true happy place! The go to beach places for me are Delaware beaches; Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth or Dewey. Just sitting on the beach, with lots of sunscreen, under an umbrella (cause I fry in the sun), tunes and/or a good book in hand! Relaxing is what this trip is all about! There is a reason I had my wedding on the beach! Toes in sand = Happy!

Summer of 2005. Picture this: 4 kids (ages 11 to 22 months), 2 parents (and I was pregnant with baby 5 but no-body else knew that), 1 incredibly stuffed van that gave new meaning to the word "mini", and a 10 day road trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone NP. Only 1 argument the whole time and it was over a package of Red-Vines on the way home. We saw buffalo, moose, trumpeter swans, bald eagles and a host of other amazing things! To this day, the kids still talk about our amazing trip and how much they want to go back. When we recently gave them the choice of Disneyland or Yellowstone they all said very emphatically, "Yellowstone!" , including child 5 who doesn't remember a thing ; ) We plan on returning next spring and we can't wait!

Sometimes I think that my favourite vacation is always the NEXT one! That said, in January this year I fulfilled a long-time dream to go on safari in Africa. It was fantastic. http://manifeisty.wordpress.com/2011/02/08/elephants/

My Epiphanie Clover made the trip with me. It's a great bag but I've been thinking of adding one of the smaller bags to my collection as well! Maybe a teal Belle...

OOooooohhh! I love to be anywhere near the ocean, but Cape Cod is my favorite, especially Provincetown. You can pick a different beach for each day of your vacation! I usually get up before sunrise and head down to the beach to watch the sun come up. It's so beautiful to watch the sun shining through the waves. You can't beat all the fresh seafood available, too...... mmmmm lobster rolls!

Every place I have every travelled to, I would go again in a second. But the place that I dream about and can't wait to take my daughter there is one of the places we visited on our honeymoon, Venice. It's true, it's magical and it's worth the saving that has to take place to get there because even $15 gelatos are worth it when you're in Venice :) http://www.tracyrisinger.com/?p=373

Last year my friend and I were given the delicious gift of staying on Martha's Vineyard for a week, sans husbands and kids. We read, slept, ate food from the farmer's markets, canoed and sat on the beach. In our companionable silence we took many, many, many photos. When I revisit those shots I almost feel as if I were transported back there.

Thanks for this great opportunity!

Oh my. Had a fabulous time with friends in Jamaica nearly 10 years ago. But next week, we're taking a family cruise to Cococay, St Thomas & St Maarten - hoping it will top the charts. :)
My favorite vacation was last September's trip to the Oregon coast. Cape Lookout. It was the most beautiful weather I've ever experienced on the coast. It will be hard to top it!

My favorite vacation is when my military husband returns from a long deployment of being away from the family and we settle in a cottage in Monterey, CA for a long slow, sleepy week. Just Daddy, Mommy and Baby Girl together, safe, alive and family once again.

My favorite vacation was our last year's road trip though Canada. We sent our stuff in container (we were moving from east to the west) and took 10 days trip to explore this beautiful country. Even though we spent sometimes 10-12 hours in the car, our kids were amazing and we were all happy that we drove instead of flying. Because the journey was definitely worth it!
Thank you for the chance.
