We are all quite obssessed with picturing our feet in cute shoes to show wherever we are standing, aren't we? So I thought I'd propose something new! How daring! :)

Today I invte you to share a shoe with a story. 

These ones picture above were my daughter's first chucks! She had just taken her first steps when I bought them, and so they marked a whole new beginning for us. I am forever grateful I pulled my iphone and actually snapped this as soon as I unwrapped them. As much as we can see her wearing this pair in all sorts of photos, this is my favorite shot because it tells in itself the story of an important milestone in our lives. Simple and quick to do. It will last a lifetime.

when in doubt

There comes a time when we all must step outside our comfort zone. It used to be that I hesitated, I dawdled in that space of inaction and nervousness. Now, when I feel myself with my toes to the edge of self doubt (and I teeter on the cusp of losing my courage) I do my best to harness those stomach butterflies and give myself the strength of their wings.

It's not always literal of course. 
Life is a constant source of choices.

Absolute certainty never comes. We always know best with hindsight, right? Yet life cannot be lived backwards. There is something inside of us; something that guides us. This I know, because this I feel.

How do you face your fears? I, personally, find myself bravest at night, under the cloak of darkness when the world is asleep. It's in that space of quiet solitude that I can harness the strongest version of myself, and I let her be my warrior. She succeeds at quieting the inner critic which leaves me room to fly during the day. (Sometimes.) There are of course other nights when I simply eat a bowl of ice cream and dream of braver days.

Today's prompt is flight. How do you take flight? Share with us your thoughts on what flight means to you, and also how you find flight with your camera lens.

aim high

These days all photographers seem to let loose and aim high at the sun, letting the light sip into their pictures unapologetically. Let's face it. We all love flares! I wonder who was that first guy though, that broke the rules and showed his pictures with streaks and dots on it, just for the sake of sharing a pure feeling versus a well practiced technique. I'd hug this guy, wouldn't you? 

This made me think about real life too, and the fact that it might be nice to break some of our own self imposed rules once in a while. Even if it is just to see what happens, like in a photo experiement. It could turn out surprisingly beautiful and moving. It is our audacity after all, that brings on innovation and (dare I say...) more beauty to our lives and the world.

So I wonder, what sort of rule, small thought or confinement, you could choose to break today? Be playful. Be bold. Aim high. Whether you are aiming with your camera or just your heart, choose to do something that will bring you a godly feeling.

Laundry

When I saw that my word for today was 'Laundry', I thought, great, what am I going to do with the word 'laundry'?  Well, I guess the 'Laundry Gods' took care of that for me because it just so happens that as of Saturday, my dryer decided to stop working.  Obviously the Laundry Gods also thought a visit to a Laundromat is what was needed for me in order to help with today's word. I guess they were right.  So thank you, Laundry Gods. Now could you please produce a new dryer for me? I would be forever grateful!
