When we boarded The Inspiration (kinda ironic huh?) on Thursday afternoon, I had no idea what was in store for me. I expected to see good friends, hear amazing music and eat until I couldn’t breathe. I did all of those things and then some. What I didn’t expect was the ...

I'm pretty fortunate in that both my family and my husband's family travel at least once a year to fabulous places and we usually get invited to tag along. My most recent favorite vacation though would have to be our trip to Grand Cayman with my parents last September. It really was a disaster of a vacation - we were there in the middle of a huge tropical storm and barely stepped foot on any of Cayman's gorgeous beaches. It was, however, a wonderful chance to spend time with my family, take some incredible photos and explore parts of the island that, had we been lazing at the beach all week, probably never would have found. It's one of those vacations some would say was a complete bust but I'll tuck it away in my memory as a trip of a lifetime! And if I ever forget I have some great pix to remember! :o)

My favorite vacation was in Lahaina on Maui. I got to enjoy the beach and the surf. Plus I got to go snorkeling with my oldest son. I even got to take the little ones one boogie boards to see huge sea turtles!

My favourite holiday is always a trip to Tobago in the W.I. Blue skies, amazing views and food.
Tobago is very different from the mainland. More traditional, with less buildings and more fresh air. The last time I went, I was able to see much much more of the island which was beautiful.

Anywhere I could take nice photos is great for vacation but if I had to chose I'd go with Stockholm / Sweden. It's a magical city and the locals are really nice!
Went there twice already and hope to go back soon!

My favorite vacation was a world wide trip I took after graduating college. I left in December went to London, Paris (during New Years) Nice, Monaco, Italy, Greece, Thailand, and Australia. It was the best trip. I took a million pictures and saw the most beautiful sites.

I think I'd have to say our annual family vacation to the beach in NC. We go every year and love the low-stress, relaxing time with my boys. I hope to continue to make it a tradition.

My favorite vacation was a sweet little trip I took with my fiance to Key West. We drove down from Miami and stayed in a cute little bungalow. Made breakfast every day and then took in the sites. Ate so much seafood and drank plenty of frozen drinks. It really was perfect. :)

It's been six years, but for me, it's still San Antonio, Texas. The place is gorgeous at night along the RiverWalk. El Mercado had TONS of fun things to see and the best sweet treats. I loved my guided tour around the city and even learned a little as well. Just a fun place. They have activities for all ages too.

Driving in the car with my four year old hearing him every five minutes "saying mommy are we there yet" we are on our way to grandmas house you could see the excitement on his little face. Family Vacations are things i will never forget kids these day grow up way to fast we spent the weekend fishing off the dock and checking little Minos and he was the happiest little boy I’ve ever seen sitting by the camp fire and roasting marshmallows and catching fireflies those little things are the simple things in life that will stay with us forever. that trip was one that brought joy to everyone it brought out the inner child in us all and cant wait to go back again. Its always the little moments that last a life time for us and the simple smiles and laughter made this trip one in a million

My favorite vacation was a cruise to Mexico with my husband and kids. It was amazing!

The easy answer for me would be our trip to Costa Rica for our wedding. It was obviously such an overwhelming time in our lives and I hold unforgettable memories from our trips to that country. But, I think one of my favorite trips ever was actually to Door County WI (which also happens to be our engagement trip). Such a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The towns are adorable, the fall color is breathtaking and the waters edge is different at every point along the peninsula! I'm hoping we can go back some time soon! It's one of my favorite places in the world.

My favorite vacation was when I went to visit some friends in Germany for two weeks in 2004. They lived in the southern tip of Germany so we got to hang out there some (for free) & also travel into Switzerland & France during my stay. It was a great balance of touristy things and time with locals in their shops/restaurants. It was such a great opportunity & I'm grateful I had the chance to do that! NOW I can't wait to go back one day - hopefully carrying an Epiphanie bag lol. ;) Blessings!

I would have to say that my favorite vacation was actually a staycation. We just went to another part of Oahu, Hawaii when my daughter was born. Both my husband's and my family and friends came out from all over the world to visit us at the same time. It was so wonderful to experience the birth of our first child with family that has never all been in the same place at the same time before.

It feels like forever since we actually took a vacation! And it'll be awhile longer since Baby #2 is due in a month, but I'd have to say our Italian trip tops my list. We went to Florence and Tuscany and had a fabulous time. Talk about feeling like you're really away from it all! Thanks for the chance. I'd just love to win a "home" for my new camera!

We just returned from a four-day trip to Colorado, where I really went "outside the box" and hiked up to a glacier, hiked up mountains, and said, "yes, let's try that" instead of "that's not my thing." I also had some beautiful shots of mountains, foxes, chipmunks......very memorable.

My favorite vacation by far was our trip to queensland, australia to go sailing in the great barrier reef. The trip was amazing: snorkeling, catching and eating fresh tuna, spotting whales. Highly recommended.

My favorite vacation is probably the short getaway my husband and I just shared to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. :) We went back to Nashville, Indiana, where we spent our first honeymoon as young, broke newlyweds. We hadn't been there in 15 years and it has definitely changed from being a quiet artists' colony to more of a shopping attraction. The thing I loved so much about the trip is our realization that the only things we remembered about the place were those things we had taken pictures of on our honeymoon. The one place that we remembered without the aid of those photos was a little pizza joint that had been next to a pretty little white gazebo...which had been bulldozed down (literally) the day before we arrived! It was a neat reminder of the importance that photography has in all of our lives, and why we do it in the first place. Without it, our memories, even those of remarkable events and even more remarkable people, can easily fade. Photography makes those people and events live on for ages to come. :)

Oh, so hard to choose! Since having kids though, Disney is my favorite... we go for two weeks, take our time so there are no meltdowns and soak up all the magic.

After many years of being away from home ,it was time for the family to come together for the event that we so rarely see. I almost forgot what awesome hawaiian sunsets were like, this was one of my childhood memories as a child.

It was the celebration of my parents 50th anniversary. I will cherish every moment of this trip.

The most fun we have had in a long time. My youngest was struck by a car 9/11/09 and has been suffering physically and emotionally. This year we took him back to Florida. We did a Segway(a self-balancing personal transportation device with two wheels; can operate in any level pedestrian environment.) tour in Delray, a boat tour in Miami, went to Key west and had a lot of fun on the beach in the sand and in the water. He was glowing, and it made my heart rejoice. So thankful to have this time with him and he turned 16 while we were on our way home. What perfect weather too.

Definetly our trip to Australia. It was such a trip of a life time for us. We went snorkeling at the great barrier reef and climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge. It was amazing I printed over 700 pictures that I am currently trying to scrapbook. I blogged some of it here http://alesa-jpl.blogspot.com/2008/07/melbourne.html

My best vacation so far has been a week in Ireland and Northern Ireland two summers ago. I spent time in Dublin, Belfast, Co. Wicklow, and the Antrim Coast and loved absolutely every minute of it. My husband and I talk about wanting to retire there when we're older because we had such a great time. My favorite vacation would have to be the time I went to Kalaloch Lodge overlooking the Washington coast. I rented a cabin for a week, took long walks on the beach, read lots of books, got away from telephones and television, and relaxed. It was wonderful!

Many years ago my husband and I met our daughter and her husband in Reno, Nevada. I had such a great time taking photos of them in various spots around the area in the Gardnerville area near some large sycamore trees sharing their Autumn Splendor. How much nicer would that vacation have been with that camera in an Epiphanie Camera Bag and not that old clunky Camera Bag better suited for a mountain hiker than me a stylish Mom.

My first vacation after having a baby was the most superb. It was in Naples, Florida. I had a better appreciation of life, love, & ALONE TIME!!! The food was excellent (because I had time to taste it), the beaches were so serene and beautiful, and the uninterrupted sleep was priceless. That was almost 5 years ago & I look forward to a new type of vacation...the kind WITH kids. :)

My favorite vacation has got to be anytime we're camping. I know it's weird, but I love letting the kids get filthy dirty and play and explore all day. Then they're all tuckered out at bedtime and the grown-ups can hang out by the campfire and play games all night. :) Can't wait till it's warm enough to camp this year!

3 GENERATIONS OF SISTERS!!!. my favorite vacation was this last Fall. I took a cruise to the New England states and Canada with my family. My mom and her sister, me and my sister and my two daughters. We had a great time. We saw the sites in Maine, Massachusettes, Martha's Vineyard, Halifax, Nova Scotia and St, John New Brunswick. It was 11 days of adventure. From half of our party(my sister, daughters and myself) getting stranded at JFK international during a storm, to being stuck in the pouring rain in Boston waiting on the train that was an hour late. it was great. I love the East Coast in the Fall and it was beautiful. I'd have to say, my favorite was staying in a little cottage hotel in Cape Cod at the back end of our trip. We spent the day on Martha's Vineyard, just walking, sightseeing and enjoying each others company. it was for sure a once in a lifetime trip.

My FAVORITE vacation was last year. It was the first time we went on a REAL family vacation. We didn't go visit other relatives, we weren't staying in someone's house, it was grand! My husband, me and our 3 little boys went to the beach and had a whole week of awesome weather, fun in the sun, waves, and pool. I LOVED getting to get away with just us, and we are doing again this year!! :)

A summer vacation tradition our family started four years ago is to paddle our two kayaks and canoe out to a remote island on Umbagog Lake in Northern New Hampshire. We camp for little over a week. There is no electricity or cell phone reception and not another soul within shouting distance. It's an amazing week of slowing way down and connecting with each other. We look forward to it every year.

I just got home from a pretty awesome vaca! San Fran and Berkeley first. Then a roadtrip up to Portland where we hit up some wine tasting in Sonoma and some hiking in the Redwoods. Spent almost a week in Portland... which is amazing!! Then took the train down to LA to hit up the beach and Hollywood. The trip was topped off by an insanely fun wedding in Ojai, CA. Wow!

My all-time favorite place to visit is Vinalhaven, Maine. It's a beautiful little island off the coast and we go every summer with my family. Great scenery, cool weather, awesome lobster rolls . . . what's not to like? We're going up in 6 weeks and I can't wait!

We do not have the opportunity to travel much as we often spend our time off visiting family in different states. However, one of my favorite vacations is an annual trip I make with friends to a small northern Wisconsin town for the July 4 weekend. It is this beautiful place with a lake surrounded by great little cabins. We visit local restaurants, run an annual 5K race, shop at these adorable small antique stores, and enjoy a true small town 4th of July parade. It is great to step away from the hustle and bustle of the big city for a few days and just enjoy the simple things.

It's such a difficult decision, but taking a road trip 2 summers ago was probably my most recent favorite vacation. Seeing so much different scenery was amazing, it's crazy how fast America's landscaping changes on a drive like that.
